We have a new team member onboard, please welcome Slayer to the team. They will be doing some coding/bug fixing for the site! They've actually helped us a lot through the month of July as well, so thank you!We are currently looking for someone to help us with prompt approval for art and activities. Optimally looking for someone with good communication and dedication to the species and who is self-driven and good at keeping on top of daily site checks.
QOL:
- Characters can now be tagged with Trigger Warnings. Old characters can be submitted with the same image via design update where the user adds the TW, themselves, if they would like to TW older characters for anything specific like self-harm scars, smoking, clowns, holes, etc, otherwise, any newly updated or uploaded characters have a user-friendly interface where you can tag them as you submit them for approval.
- Characters can now be "tagged" as IP or imported previously made OC that you turned into a Cloakat. I believe you can submit a redesign request with the same image to edit this, if we haven't already taken care of it for you.
- OPEN ALL FORAGE BAGS BY THE END OF AUGUST 1ST AS THESE ARE GOING TO BE DELETED When foraging, the areas will now directly drop the 3 intended loot tables, ridding of the need for a "foraging bag" in the process. The icons of the items you receive will also now show when you successfully forage. Please note the loot tables intend to drop 1 goodie, 1 material, and 1 food, but it is entirely possible to drop, for instance, 2 of 1 table, and 1 of the other, sometimes opting out the 3rd loot table option. This adds a more random element to the outcome of your forage and sometimes increases your chances to drop more materials/foods per each foraging turn. We hope you enjoy!

- Animated Fur has been reduced by 1 rarity to even out the amounts of traits per each rarity in the skin section.
- Rapunzel Tail has received more clear art to show the length of the tail more correctly.
- "Floating Fascinators"has been renamed Levitating Objects for clarity.
- Fat Tailed (the standard tail type) has received some updated art for clarification on tail size/width.

NEW MECHANIC! PETS, GIFTS AND LEVELING UP!
- Darlings Pet Emporium is officially open! This shop allows users to purchase companion MYOs and their potions in one unique place.
- Darling also sells "collectable pets". (Which gives you free stuff occasionally when owned)
What Is this?
- Darling sells collectibles, namely called a "pet", which works similarly to the mechanic present in Flight Rising, where you can attach this pet to a Cloakat you own and interact with it once a day which helps "level it up". These pets can also level up over time and may have a "grand prize gift" they award you with for maxing out their friendship. These pets can "stack" on a single Cloakat, so you can give 1 character multiple pets if you so wish. Certain species of collectible pets will also have unique drops specific to them that of which they might randomly "gift" you over time, so be sure to check in with these pets daily for possibly new things!
-Lore-wise, Darling runs a shop in Balsawood Village, where she tames, breeds, and sells companions from around the island to those needing a friend. She also sells "pets" that of which seem to look like figures, toys, and stuffed animals that she insists are real. When purchased, these "pets" seem to actually sometimes move from their original position or sometimes are found with gifts at their feet, making one question if Darling has some sort of power related to these toys being seemingly sentient.
- New waves of "pets" will arrive in her shop monthly.

- Cloakat all tend to favor a certain element, if not multiples. There are many elemental shrines all over the island that Cloakat go to, praying for various things to be bestowed upon them in exchange for offerings. Some of these shrines can sometimes be incredibly hard to get to, if not downright dangerous to reach. The most common ones that are prayed to are the 2 present in Balsawood Village.π Social Media Updates: π
- The DeviantArt Masterlist is still being slowly adjusted to have a large double watermark over it to still allow DA users to enjoy the species over there while making the consistent watermark make it hard for the design to be stolen by AI scrapers without having the watermark in some way shape or form on their output.

- The Artist TOS has been visually adjusted so more information is on the screen at one given time. Information regarding rarity and amount a Guest Artist and Official Artist can create monthly has been adjusted.- There are 2 new items in the foraging pools, a large wallet and small wallet. An item that is generally found by the Cloakat that can be opened up to reveal a small or large sum of currency accordingly.

MYO TOS:- The MYO TOS for Cloakats and Companions has been better clarified further. A section was also added to crash course how some items affect an entry. This item's was originally for sale for 0 shards in The Elder Bat's Quarters as a way for people to easily see and access the TOS for their entries, however, to further make it accessible, we have put it in all relevant shops that have items that will affect one's ML entry.
ADOPTS:
- A companion adopt batch has dropped today! (June 1st) in celebration for the new companions that have released!
- There will be a batch of Cloakat adopts to be released on June 15th, please stand by as this one will be a fun one!
GUEST ARTIST POSITION:
- We have 2 Guest Artists for the June 15th batch, please welcome sadtime_hotline0Β and Kaet for this batch!

𧬠Species/companion News: π§¬
NEW TRAITS/UPDATES:- An event trait has been created from a previous consistent quirk I've used in the species. We now have a fall trait called "Mushroom Cap" which gives the Cloakat a mushroom for a hat or mushroom-like cap/witch hat as a trait. This trait can be permanently attached to the Cloakat or removable at the creator's digression.
- A new trait has been added to Cloak Traits due to this clothes' categorization being a bit of a confusing problem. We now have "Overcloak" which covers things like undershirts + overcoats and the like. This is not compatible with making it look naked underneath if "opened".
- A new trait has been added to give more variety to nails, This is trait "Claw Caps". CTRL + F5 if image doesn't show correctly for any of the mentioned traits.
- Uncommon Trait "Thin Claws" has been removed, since this is a bit more related to personal artist choice of style and shouldn't be traited. This can now be done with a standard claw typing.
- Event trait "Patchwork" has been removed and combined into trait "Inanimate parts and textures" due to redundancy.
NEW MASTERLIST FEATURE:
- Cloakats can now be given pronouns for their entry, you can review this setting by simply hitting the setting button of your Cloakat to change/edit this. Happy Pride!
- Not New, BUT-you also have the ability to "like" a masterlist entry. You cannot like your own entry, but you can like others' entries! We hope you enjoy! (Please note that removing the like is not a current feature!)
NEW ITEM:
We now have a new overhaul item called the "Moving Boxes" This allows the artist of a slot to completely wipe a character from their slot and remake a character at the same rarity without having to be related to the old entry at all. Basically, the artist of the slot can VOID then reuse the slot! This can help artists save shards by allowing them to repurpose a slot they lost interest with while still being able to use the rarity and slot number of the MYO for something new they may enjoy more. You can find this item in The Elder Bat's Quarters or in Hoshiko and Moriko's Wayward Woodworks. (This second shop is seasonal and might be closed during this announcement)
NEW COMPANIONS/PETS:
We have 2 new companions for the species!
Say hello to the Waltzing Whelk and Tempo Slug! The Waltzing Whelk is a land snail-like creature who is local to fresh water sources, while the Tempo Slug is a Nudibranch-like creature local to salt water! Both are poisonous AND venomous creatures who love to sing like sirens to bring in small prey. Please give these species a more in depth look here, as it will answer a lot of questions about these two and also has a basic guide on the two!

- Cloakats have a vast network of catacombs underground. This can be accessed from their Islands graveyard by the name of "Arcadia's Garden" whereas this catacomb was originally part of their vast underground cave networks that Cloakats live in, but was cut off around this area as a way to give their loved ones a safe place to rest away from the prying claws of those with ill intent.- Reminder to also set your birthday to public! (At least the month and date), if you do so, you receive an automatic birthday gift from a bot we've set up that gives you a MYO and some currency on your birthday only if its somewhat set to public!

Please note that if you see some currency already attached to a prompt, that that is a 5-15% BONUS on TOP of the "grading" for art and writing submitted per each section. Thank you for bringing this to our attention to clarify. As a helpful note, usually a full body piece will be enough for a standard MYO ticket. Activities in general offers a small amount of currency, where large amounts of currency will be given for art and writing pieces. Apologies for the previous mix-up. - It seems that there have been some issues arising in the southern half of the island that has been getting worse, The Elder Bat has issued warning to southern living Cloakat to head warning of their surroundings and be watchful for any danger lurking in the woodlands. Issues related to this also seems to be present in Hellebore Hamlet as well. (This has been vaguely discussed in the last 3 festival stories)

- There are many different types of flora and fauna around Moonset Island, while much of it can be found all around the world, some unique species can only be found around Moonset Island. It is said an odd horned creature resides around the rocky cliffs of Crashing Hillocks that only seems to be in a very few places around the world. Cloakats seem to use these creatures as a farm animal for its materials and milk, It doesn't seem to be domesticated by many other species outside Cloakat, as they seem to be more aggressive and skittish around most other species.π Social Media Updates: π
- The overhaul to fix the formatting on DeviantArt continues. We are half way done with the DA masterlist. This also includes a better watermark and setting the images to a smaller size by default to protect user assets present in out DA account.
- The TH masterlist formatting will be adjusted next. TH masterlist is now set to "tile watermark" to protect users art assets present on the Cloakat masterlist account.
π¨ Misc. Site Tweaks/Lesser News: π¨
- Currency output for Higher or Lower minigame will be slightly increased.- Currency gained from foraging has a wider amount of random values you can potentially gain now. (As of August 15th)
- Currency output for completed activities that were a value of 10 shards for the whole activities, are now 25 shards per completed activity.
- Codes can now be redeemed through the "redeem code" link on the shop dropdown. This used to be given through a prompt, but we now have a designated location where people can get these codes hands-off without having to wait for mod approval. As thanks for reading this newletter, please redeem code "soot" for some free goodies. Please note that this can only be collected once per account. DM Clarrisa if you need help finding this.

New People in the Mod Team:
- We have 2 new people in the mod team, this is Azara, who will be a "catch all" mod, doing a little bit of everything, and fervorousfox, who we will be testing for the prompt approval system!
Please welcome in these two!
QOL:
- New users/FTOs will now always be greeted with a starter bag when joining the site when they submit the newbie prompt. This is a conversion of the site opening prompt we had last month. New users/FTOs will now always get a standard MYO to start with, some currency (shards, tokens, and ginkgo leaves), a randomized MYO editing item, a trophy, and one starter EXP (1x EXP)! I hope this helps folks break into the species :>
- All items that can be both bought and sold have received a rebalance in currency to make more sense due to the way pricing something to make it both purchasable and sellable works.
- Since there was a currency rebalance, shards that are given for art and writing has been rebalanced too. You now get more shards for bonuses like artfight, drawing minigame, gift art, NPC art, festival art, Cloakat of the month art, and other things. This rebalance means that bonuses on art give anywhere between 15-20% bonus of the base shards distributed.
- The official conversion of Gratitude Shards to USD has been determined to be 300 Shards = $1 USD as it has been requested by the community for commission purposes. The price of some items like raw materials do not reflect this converstion completely, but potions, MYO editing items, and MYOs have been balanced to apply to this.
- The free MYO people can earn by giving the DeviantArt Masterlist a core badge (When its core runs out Only) has been upgraded from RARE to EPIC since (per account) each grant of Core Memberlist to the Masterlist account can only grant one to the same account once a year. As a reminder, using alts to grant badges is Perfectly Fine as well!
- Event traits have been officially sectioned off by season they are available to make searching for them much easier than before.
- User Inventory now has the ability to be collapsible! This is to help cut down on space so it's easier for users to interact with their inventory. Custom Code by our coder, Sweetstuff!
- Users can now highlight a favorite character of theirs! You can do so by going to your profile and selecting this area on your profile, then you can showcase the character!
- Items will now let you know which location they can be found in. While these items are only compatible with telling you if they can be found in shops, specifically, we're working on getting it to let users know if it's droppable by other means I.E: Dungeons, Foraging, Encounters mechanic, etc. Specific and select items are now sellable! Generally raw materials like raw foods and raw materials cant be sold in their current form, but can be traded with travelers for money, or crafter into an item that IS sellable. all items you craft, have the ability to be sold!

During festivals, we announce a list of activities that community members can complete for fun and turn in for festival tickets, a currency exclusive to completing these activities. This currency can be turned in at the Festival Booth shop for surprise "loot" boxes that have themes to them. Sometimes direct items can be exchanged for tickets as well, so please be sure to check the shop monthly as the stock can sometimes rotate. On the occasion that something new is stocked, it will be noted here in the news! Please note that most of these activities are quite easy so they can be fun and relaxing for community members to interact with, so please be sure to take your time and fave fun!

The fetch quest activity is now live. You can "be visited by" or "pass by" different travelers of Moonset Island who are seeking different items of interest. Talk with different folks about trading items with them in exchange for currency. This is a good way for players to get a good bang for your buck. Travelers can sometimes give you more currency than what an item's resale value can be, so be sure to check in as all of these characters item requests changed HOURLY (on the dot of the new hour). You can now sell items to NPCs here. These rotate between 20-60 minutes per traveler. Yes, the NPCs have pretty tame Icons for now, they will be more personalized another time! The password for prompt esprits hallow is peanuts.

- Waltzing Whelks can be found nearly anywhere in the world, so long as there is a freshwater location or a generally wet environment. They sometimes even seem to live around peoples houses closer to cities, while not often, it IS possible! Adjustments:- Pawed Cloak Trait has been adjusted to be slightly more clear and has received a rename better fitting to what it is.
- All Cloakat MYO items descriptions have been updates to be more clear and now includes some QOL links and info in general.
- Demonic and Angelic arms trait both received a bit of clarification.

- We have a new mod on the team! Please welcome Ethan, who will be helping with masterlist-related work! You might see them do some other things from time to time, including adopts!- The grading system for art/writing has been slightly tweaked to compensate more situations. A Public list will be available in the future when this list is more thought out and well composed.

Namely so, the Arcade Trio is a set of siblings who run an arcade on the island right off the coast of Seaside Centre. They are the biggest arcade on the island and seem to technically be part of the Amusement part right off Cape Maddock. These three tend to the arcade, changing in and out cabinets and other games to keep things fresh. As a community lore offer, these 3 handle all the games that are given out once a month during the Cloakat festivals. Todays pw for Esprit's Hallow Prompt is 'Shiny'. Submit for some free goodies as a thank you for reading. pw expires on the 20th. Included below is a tad bit of info about each 3 Arcade members.
