Caves of Salem

The south side of the Cypress mountains and the main cave entrances of the island's expansive underground living locations and a popular place for Cloakat harvest shards. There are many cave entrances across the island for Cloakat, but most favor entering their underground lands from here as it has the largest population of important shops, taverns, and living quarters right inside (and deep below) this location. A lot of Cloakat make a living by mining responsibly here and most Cloakat who want to feel the most safe will often live in these caves. These Caves span far across the underside of the island, and while many areas open to huge recesses like huge foliage-filled locations, waterfalls, underwater lakes, and the like, there are actually a lot of off-limits locations as well. Most notably areas under Hellebore Hamlet, under the world tree, areas around the Camp of the Mystic, under Arcadia's Garden, and any locations past the cliffs leading to under the Moonshatter Isles. Cloakat will generally heed caution for locations with warning signs as many areas have been permanently blocked off due to cave-ins, slippery, sharp, or constricted locations, and the like. Some locations allow for monitored spelunking and cave diving but is still risky as it may sometimes lead into previously blocked-off caverns or may have aggressive cave-dwelling creatures. Nonetheless, most areas are rather spacious and save ad these winding questionable area are generally well marked.
