Cloakat (Pronounced Cloh-Kat, which is a derivative of the words Cloak and Bat) is a species of monster that is very bat-like in facial qualities and some other physical qualities. They have stretchy rubber-like arms with claws at their tips. They live together on a huge offset island named "Moonset Island", which is filled with 1000+ year old redwood/sequoias, and are watched over by their leader, The Elder Bat.

They are a high-energy, rambunctious species that love to have fun. They can float and fly among many different powers. Their appearance and "cloaks" can change according to their interests during their early 20's. Note that these "cloaks" appear as clothes to blend in and are not removable as they are part of the bat! The Cloakats love to socialize and play-fight with one another and live as a general community together. While they have very odd proportions, favoring weight in the arms and tail, they are rather light and very small, but incredibly powerful and generally very quick.

Bramboa

Bramboa Nature

What are Bramboa?
Bramboa are a serpent-like species that mimics its surroundings (foliage) to ambush prey. These serpent creatures will often camp locations in their naturally growing disguises and strike prey with their thorn fangs and muscular grips. Some Bramboa may also have vine-like appendages to further help them with many different tasks and catching prey. Bramboa have a very specific shape to their face that's telling of their species as they always seem to have a head encompassed with a bouquet of petals to mimic flowers around them. This also comes into play when they need to eat, as they photosynthesize with these petals as well as any leaves on their body. They also have the ability to ingrain into soil, so when they are ready to sleep, they will often burrow into the ground to anchor themselves and absorb nutrients as they rest. Bramboa will often lose their horns for various purposes ranging from poaching to getting caught on something, but their horns/antlers always grown back, so it is common to see one lacking one, both, or part of them. Bramboa of all different shapes and sizes can be found in just about any corner of the world, and are generally limited to the similar foliage surrounding their biome. They do not do well in biomes they were not risen to live in and will often wilt, fall ill, or pass away if they cannot find a way to adjust to their settings. Bramboa can also be a bit aggressive or unpredictable, so it is always suggested to handle them with extreme caution if you don't know the temper of the serpent you're handling off the bat. They are often collected as a luxury pet by others due to how beautiful they can look, and can get more lavish and large in size if tended to correctly.

♦️What Isn't allowed when making a Bramboa?

- Traits: Alternating Appendages, Dominic's Binding, Cavemind. More may be added if something is considered "too OP"
- Most rules with Cloakats non-stackable traits go for companions as well.
- Other Elemental powers unless the companion has the matching elemental parts (required another potion to add powers)

♦️ Is there a gender difference?
It has the same gender difference as a male and female flower/snake does in combo. Can have one or both. Pronouns are the users choice!

♦️ Can I Dress up my Bramboa?
Typically wild Bramboa will not wear clothes at all. It can make moving incredibly difficult since they slide on their bodies. They might occasionally wear some accessories or slight bits of clothes, but it is not entirely common due to the moving difficulties aspect. Please note that an application of clothes/accessories cannot be used in place of mimicking the Pet Potion of Oddities traits, we will kindly ask you to remove the accessories or clothes if they end up mimicking potion traits.

♦️ Can my Bramboa have a different body type?
Yes, so long as you still to the anatomy guidelines, you can make them more plumped out, shorter, longer, or thicker if wanted, so long as they still visually read as a snake. you can make a Tsuchinoko-like shape if wanted as well.

♦️ What if I want to give my Bramboa scars or missing parts?
You can absolutely do this within reason, we don't want like- a headless or floating limb snake slithering around scaring the cloakids or anything, though.

♦️ Can I change the horns/antlers on my Bramboa?
Yes! they can be just about any shape or size so long as they look to be made of foliage.

♦️ Can I change the muzzle of my Bramboa?
Technically no. The Bramboa is known for its pointed facial shape, so they generally don't have too many changes in the shape of the snoot outside things like foliage, burs, nubs, spikes, and other additives to the base shape of their muzzle. They can have 2-4 nostrils total depending on if they have a regular or devils mouth shape.

♦️ Can I change the petals on my Bramboa's neck?
Yup! go ahead! While the default is to use any kind of flower petals, you can make other leavy foliage surround the neck instead, so long as it fits the general shape of what makes it visually a Bramboa.

♦️ How long do Bramboa live?
Typical Bramboas can live up to 10-15 years in the wild, and can sometimes reach the age of 30 in captivity.
More tree-like bodied Bramboas can live up to 15-30 years in the wild, but they can sometimes reach the age of 80 in captivity.

♦️ Can my Bramboa be made of different materials?
Bramboa are typically made of foliage and scales, so if you'd like other elemental materials, foods, fur, or crystal textures, you'd need a potion. Anything obviously nature-like is a free for all.

♦️ What are the limits on coloring a Bramboa?
Bramboa can look like just about anything with the rules of the previous question in mind.
They can look like any natural existing plants added to their base body, or look imaginary, like the aesthetics of different things such as vaporwave, gamer-inspired, webcore, etc. as they can grow their foliage at birth in accordance to their surroundings to blend in. Just make sure that if you have inspiration for a Bramboa that is not a carbon copy of the existing copywritten character and is changed in some way. Bramboa scales are NOT animated in any way (animations, elements, effects, etc.) but CAN sheen in the light or be pearlescent. You will need a potion for things that don't naturally occur in a Bramboa.

♦️ Can my Bramboa have powers?
Sorry, this is not possible. Bramboa do not have powers so they cannot be elemental, cast spells, or the like, but can have elemental designs. They do not glow unless the plant they mimic naturally glows as well. Bramboa generally rely on poison, vines, and strength to take something down.

♦️ Can Bramboa speak?
Bramboa cannot speak.

♦️ Do Bramboa migrate and where do they usually live?
Bramboa typically migrate somewhat in colder weather to escape the chill, as being in colder locations for too long can kill most Bramboa. They will most often seek warmer locations and go in a state of brumation instead.

♦️ Can my Bramboa have different eyes?
They will generally have just a round eye with no pupil, or a snake-like pupil on them. They eyes can be mixed and matched if wanted, but are generally round and white by default. Potions allow for different eye shapes. They can naturally have 2-4 eyes depending on if they have a regular mouth, or devils mouth.

♦️ If someone already made an IRL flower into a Bramboa, can I still make that irl flower too?
Absolutely, irl flowers are allowed to be made more than once, so long as it's not obvious you're doing it out of spite or anything. Naturally existing flowers aren't copywritten, after all.

♦️ If someone made a specific aesthetic, theme, or character (inspired) Bramboa, can I still make that subject as a Bramboa too?
If a design based on a thing/aesthetic is made into a Bramboa, you are welcome to make that aesthetic or character inspired of Bramboa as well, so long as you're not stealing the same exact design from the other person or copywritten character. Please change enough things like symbols, colors, accessories, or markings if you want a similar Bramboa as someone else. We might ask you to change anything if the design you based on another person's design or a copywritten character is too obvious!

♦️ What are the predators and prey of Bramboa?
Predators:
- Bristled Brewbax (Hunt Bramboa for food)
- Hammerhead Grottogulp (Will eat anything that moves if its hungry)
- Kit Demon (Chance Food)
- Sand Sprinters

Prey:
- Bugs
- Small lizards/critters
- Picayune
- Smaller Cloakat (If given the chance)

♦️ What is the mannerisms of a Bramboa?
Their tempers can vary, but they are generally between aggressive and defensive most of the time. Bramboa will most often stand their ground if cornered. They can be tamed to be docile, however. They will also be more sluggish after a meal, or while resting when ingrained.

♦️ What are the eating mannerisms of a Bramboa?
Most of their diet comes from generalized photosynthesis, soil nutrients, and water. If they need more nutrients, however, they will generally consume meat, insects, and rarely seafood.

♦️ Can I make my Bramboa look Distorted like from lore?
At the moment, this isn't possible until we work out more of the story and let the members learn more about the distorted. Canon appearing Distorted looking companions will not be accepted on the masterlist at this time, but may be in the future. It is also worth noting that a creature being distorted is a permanent effect and cannot be reversed, even if this has an "alt form" tab on the masterlist images for entries, it is more-so to show the before and after effects of a distorted creature.

♦️ How big are Bramboa?
Bramboa can grow to be anywhere between 1-20ft, but can very rarely reach up to 30ft in length. Its virtually impossible to find any past about 20ft, however.

♦️ You mention a lot about Bramboa mimicking its surrounding foliage, does this mean parts as well?
Yes and no! Bramboa generally mimic their surroundings via plants for camouflage purposes, so generally, it's body, leaves, and petals that will change.
to can put other foliage on/attached to their bodies as well, such as excess moss, grass, bark, blooms of flowers, and other things, so long as they still read as a snake, and it isn't used to get through any loopholes.

♦️ Can I make a Bramboa based on my own OC/sona/Cloakat?
Absolutely, go for it. In this house, we love a mini-me pet!

♦️ Did anything inspire the Bramboa?
Nothing specific, these are mostly a "popped up in my head" kind of species idea. They did start out definitely more snake-like in the face, but I've adjusted them to look a bit more stylized and unique in the face since their original version was created.

Kitano

Kitano Flame Wraith

What are Kitano?
Kitano are a dog-like species of demon that is typically visually a hybrid of a fox/dog and rodent, who have the ability to turn into pure fire, or lay dormant to rest or heal. These creatures are very Docile yet a little skittish. They are not naturally aggressive but also keep their distance as they are often sought after by societal creatures for their powers. Kitano often are compared to a spiritual guide, as they seem to have a quirk of helping guide creatures out of locations that are hard to leave or navigate through, and with their 3rd eye, they seem to be able to perceive a lot more than a decent amount of creatures around it would. Kitano are hard to sneak up on due to this magical 3rd eye and their keen sense of hearing. They do not generally attack when startled, but rather would escape if facing danger. When in a tough situation, they may take their "ethereal" form to escape as quickly as possible by turning into pure flame and flying off rather quickly. If they are wounded or need rest, they will become their "dormant" state, where of which they turn to stone, such as a gargoyle does, and rest within their Spirit Vessel. The stone they form when in this state seems very hard to chip, but CAN break, if this happens, it will hard the Kit when going back into this form, so sometimes they may need extended dormancy to heal. They will often find abandoned or generally safe enclosed locations to go dormant in to avoid this issue. They have the ability to sleep out of this form, but prefer this form over a natural sleep, it seems.

♦️ Can I Dress up my Kitano?
Typically wild Kitano will not wear clothes at all. They might occasionally wear some accessories or slight bits of clothes in captivity or on their own accord, but it is not entirely common due to the overheating aspect. Please note that an application of clothes cannot be used in place of mimicking the Pet Potion of Oddities traits, we will kindly ask you to remove the accessories or clothes if they end up mimicking potion traits. Kitano's Spirit Vessel technically doesn't count as an accessory since its an integral part of them.

♦️ Can my Kitano be a different body type?
Yes, so long as you still to the anatomy guidelines, you can make them more plumped out, or whatever body part like the legs/arms shorter, longer, or thicker.
You can also make them super fuzzy or puffy in appearance, this might help fit for certain aesthetics, or make one fit for the winter. The default body type is just generally top heavy. Neck is required to be large, however.

♦️ What if I want to give my Kitano scars or missing parts?
You can absolutely do this within reason, we don't want like- a headless or floating limb Kitano running around scaring the cloakids or anything, though.

♦️ Can I change the "mask" of my Kitano?
Yes and no. So long as it has the sharply hooked face and 3 eyes, you're welcome to do other tweaks, like adding horns, whiskers, and other things. Just ask!

♦️ Can I change the "tail" of my Kitano?
With a potion, yes! The Kitano tail is usually a bald rat-like tail with a vessel at its tip, but you can give it a few shaped, bends, crooks, burs, nubs, or spikes if wanted, so long as it looks tapered in shape and bald-like by default. If you want a sharply different table, this would require a potion, however. Patterning doesn't HAVE to look like a rat texture, any pattern and texture is fine so long as it looks tapered and skinny by default. EX: If you want a more dog-like tail with fur, that needs a potion!

♦️ Can I make the neck skinnier?
Sorry, no! Kitano have this as part of their unique identifier. They will generally always keep a bit of oxygen in their flame sack to convert to flames as a defense mechanism. They usually inflate their neck via pulling in air to blow larger lengths of flames, so a large neck is integral to hold more chemicals in it. They can also use this reserve of oxygen if running out of air for any reason, like if they go diving for fish as food.

♦️ Where can I put my Kitano's Vessel?
The Kitanos Vessel is usually stored on one place at a time unless it has multiple heads or tails. These locations include its collar (neck), mask tip (nose), One of its ears at a time, or its tail tip. Other locations require a potion, or you can ask. Just make sure the vessel is obvious and visible on its reference sheet/masterlist image.

♦️ How long do Kitano live?
Generally about 100 years or a little more naturally. They can gain up to 3 tails with age, showing an increase in their spiritual power. However, some Kitano may not have a tail at all, which doesn't impact their power reserves at all. If a Kitano is powerful enough, these tails may gain another vessel, lengthening the Kit's life by roughly 50 years per each extra vessel. Max is 3 vessels if 3 tails or 3 heads are present.

♦️ Can my Kitano be made of different materials?
Kitano naturally have 3 forms, Base Form, Ethereal, and Dormant. In their natural form, they are furred with fire parts. In Ethereal form, they are all fire, and in their dormant form, they are made of stone. If you'd like to have any materials outside the mentioned materials of each for, it would need a potion.

♦️ What are the limits on coloring a Kitano?
Kitano can be any color you'd like for them to be so long as it doesn't mimic other elements without the use of a potion. Just as well, make sure that if you have inspiration for a Kitano that is not a carbon copy of the existing copywritten character and is changed in some way. Kitano fur is NOT animate in any way outside their flames animation. You can also make them look imaginary, like the aesthetics of different things such as vaporwave, gamer-inspired, webcore, etc. Some things may need potions, however.

♦️ Can my Kitano have powers?
Yes, this is limited to fire and spiritual-related powers unless you use a potion to give them another visual element with a power to match.
You're welcome to give them a weapon, but please note that they are feral and you need to consider how they would handle a weapon properly.

♦️ Can Kitano speak?
Yes, they can speak telepathically, but do not visually move their mouths to talk. They can speak in fluent tongues of choice.

♦️ Do Kitano migrate and where do they usually live?
They will usually migrate if food is scarce, but will otherwise be in less populated locations where a Cloakat would less likely be seen. They are most commonly found in Lotus Grove and Scoria's Crag, but can also be found almost anywhere around the island so long as they're aren't many others around. They adapt for the winter and do not migrate due to weather.

♦️ Can my Kitano have different eyes?
Yup, go for it. Their default amount is 3 eyes, default shape is a slanted sleek look, and default eye type is pupilless, but pupils, lack of pupils, eye color, and pupil shape are not traited. You can make them all different colors if wanted too!

♦️ If someone made a specific aesthetic, theme, or character (inspired) Kitano, can I still make that subject as a Kitano too?
If a design based on a thing/aesthetic is made into a Kitano, you are welcome to make that aesthetic or character inspired of Kitano as well, so long as you're not stealing the same exact design from the other person or copywritten character. Please change enough things like symbols, colors, accessories, or markings if you want a similar Kitano as someone else. We might ask you to change anything if the design you based on another person's design or a copywritten character is too obvious!

♦️ What are the predators and prey of Kitano?
Predators:
- Sooted Fluxwing (They will generally hunt them for their metal parts only)

Prey:
- Bramboa
- Moon Bloom
- Picayune
- Waltzing Whelks
- Waning Lumis

Note, Kitano are not naturally aggressive. They hunt the prey mentioned for food, but never for sport. The smaller the better.

♦️ How big are Kitano?
Kitano can be anywhere between 2-4ft tall.
They can be between 2-4ft long without a tail, or the tail can give them an extra 4-8ft in length.

♦️ What is the mannerisms of a Kitano?
Kitano are a bit skittish and standoffish and don't pose a threat. They'd rather run than fight if needed. They will generally be very shy around other creatures, but if they know they can help something that in turn helps themselves, they will do so. For the most part, they stay out of trouble, so to speak, and have very little enemies due to their generally docile mannerisms. As a companion to a Cloakat, they are incredibly loyal and may even go as far as give their life to protect their owner.

♦️ What are the eating mannerisms of a Kitano?
They eat meat mostly, but also consume insects. They will sometimes also graze on a seafood or plant diet if wanted or needed.
They only hunt for food and eat what they need, no more. They prefer not to waste and will often burry their kill if they don't finish it. They are not picky eaters as anything they consume becomes fuel for their internal fire and comes out as ash. So if you find ash in a weird place. You probably dont' want to touch it..

♦️ Can I make my Kitano look Distorted like from lore?
At the moment, this isn't possible until we work out more of the story and let the members learn more about the distorted. Canon appearing Distorted looking companions will not be accepted on the masterlist at this time, but may be in the future. It is also worth noting that a creature being distorted is a permanent effect and cannot be reversed, even if this has an "alt form" tab on the masterlist images for entries, it is more-so to show the before and after effects of a distorted creature.

♦️ Can my Kitano have different colored flames?
Absolutely, go for it.

♦️ Can I make a Kitano based on my own OC/sona/Cloakat?
Absolutely, go for it. In this house, we love a mini-me pet!

♦️ Can my Kitano have different ears?
They cannot. They must remain foxlike in appearance.

♦️ Did anything inspire the Kitano?
The Bellowback from Horizon: Zero Dawn, Rodents, Kitsune, Gargoyles, spirits, and guardian-like creatures in mythology/fairytales. (Mostly the first 3)

What are Picayune?
Picayunes are small flightless bird creatures who have the smarts of a corvid. They are very social animals and will do just about anything for food. Picayunes can be found in most places on Moonset Island, but most commonly will live near populated areas to attain free/easy food and shelter. They are incredibly family-oriented and will often gather together around dusk to chat with one another. They have a good memory and can solve puzzles and remember faces. Picayunes will also pick up the habits of species around them to help them adapt better. Picayune most often diet off of fruits, seeds, nuts, and berries, but will eat non-traditional cooked/processed foods if given to them. Their natural enemy is the Bramboa.

Species Name: Picayune

♦️ How do I get one?
Picayunes adopts or MYOs can be acquired for purchase from the site for shards or for USD. They can also be given out randomly or for raffles.

♦️ What traits can I give my Picayune naturally?
- Any features that are naturally on any bird so long as it doesn't drastically change what anatomically makes a Picayune unique.
- Clothes and Accessories
- Different tails so long as you make it obvious that the tail is made of feathers.
- Different crests on the head
- Different feather textures and "hair" styles so long as it still looks like feathers.
- Objects on body so long as it doesn't mimic elements like nature (excess flowers/plants) and other things or mimics food body (frosting/drizzle etc.)

♦️ What traits require a Pet Potion of Oddities to add to my Picayune?
- another head (2 max)
- small non-working wings (1 set max)
- another set of arms (1 extra set max)
- other fur types that aren't feathers
- elemental or crystal textures
- multiple eyes (6 extra max)
- moving textures
- horns, antlers, and halos (1 set max, 1 halo max)
- glowing or glitchy textures
- ooze/slime texture
- more transparent textures or bones if wanted
- change the tail type from the typical "picayune" shapes or bird-like tails to allow the tail to be like less bird-like in quality.
- food textures and parts
- burs, nubs, and spikes
- different eye-types (regular picayune are 1–2 colors only with no pupil, this allows any eye type within reason)

♦️ What are the absolute requirements for Picayunes anatomically speaking?
Head - An oval shaped head, round pupilless eyes connected to the back of the mouth.
Arms - "Wing Hands". You are allowed to give them more or less "fingers" than what is common if wanted, so long as they still look like both hands and wings. Think Zelda Rito. (3-6 is fine)
Legs - digitigrade hooved feet
Body - N/A
Tail - Any bird tail at all, so long as the bird actually exists. If its mythical, it needs a potion.
Other - N/A

♦️What Isn't allowed when making a Picayune?
- The first would be exceeding the limitations listed above in the guideline about what is naturally allowed for a Picayune, which also goes for the limitations of what's able to be added via potions.
- Traits: Alternating Appendages, Dominic's Binding, Cavemind, and Alt Palette. More may be added if something is considered "too OP"
- Most rules with Cloakats non-stackable traits go for companions as well.
- Elemental powers unless the companion has the matching elemental parts (required another potion to add powers)
- Changing the feet from digitigrade hooves
- Changing the arms from their "wing hand" appearance
- Giving them teeth (There is 1 technical exception on the masterlist right now)
- Giving them pupils (There is 1 exception on the masterlist right now)
- Changing their height with a potion to be outside what is considered normal.

♦️ Is there a gender difference?
No. If you own one, that is for you to decide if you want them to look like any societal gender at all.

♦️ Can I dress up my Picayune?
Typically wild Picayune will not wear clothes at all. They can get overheated and generally, it feels too heavy on them.

♦️ Can my Picayune be a different body type?
Yes, so long as you still to the anatomy guidelines, you can make them more plumped out, or whatever body part like the legs/arms shorter, longer, or thicker.
You can also make them super fuzzy or puffy in appearance, this might help fit for certain aesthetics, or make one fit for the winter.

♦️ What if I want to give my Picayunes scars or missing parts?
You can absolutely do this within reason, we don't want like- a headless or floating limb bird running around scaring the cloakids or anything, though.

♦️ Can I change the crest/"hair" on the Picayunes head?
Yes! So long as it abides by the guidelines of 2-3 feathers on the head, these can be anywhere on the back of the head with just about any length or size.
You can also make these 2-3 feathers cut in different ways to resemble things like shapes or leaves (etc.)

♦️ Can I change the "tail" of my Picayune?
Absolutely. This is limited to 1 total since it's usually just one large feather that makes the tail, so if the tail is still identifiable as a bird's tail, have fun.
You can also make the feathered tail cut in different ways to resemble things like shapes or leaves (etc.)
You can also give it no feather and have just a nub butt if you'd like to.

♦️ Can I draw bird feet instead of hooves for the feet?
Sorry, no! Picayunes have this as part of their unique identifier. It helps them run lightning-fast.

♦️ How long do Picayunes live?
Generally 7-10 years in the wild. They can sometimes reach the age of 30 in captivity.

♦️ Can my Picayune be made of different materials?
Picayunes are birds and are feathered, please make sure that if you make a specific design, that in some way or another, they look feathered!
You're welcome to make really any texture or elemental LOOKING Picayune, but they will not have powers of any sort matching their visual aesthetics.
If a bird Irl has certain patterns or odd feathers (like curly feathers), then be my guest!

♦️ What are the limits on coloring a Picayune?
Picayunes can look like just about anything with the rules of the previous question in mind.
They can look like any natural existing bird like a raven, bluejay, peacock, etc., or look imaginary, like the aesthetics of different things such as vaporwave, Nature-like, gamer-inspired, webcore, etc. as they can grow their plumes in accordance with interests they take, or mimic birds of their surroundings to blend in. Just make sure that you have inspiration for a Picayune that is not a carbon copy of the existing copywritten character and is changed in some way. Picayune feathers are NOT animate in any way (animations, elements, effects, etc.) but CAN sheen in the light or be pearlescent.

♦️ Can my Picayune have powers?
Sorry, this is not possible. Picayunes do not have powers so they cannot be elemental, cast spells, or the like, but can have elemental designs. They do not glow, either.
You're welcome to give them a weapon, but please note that they are 8 inches tall and are birds, so they have hollow bones and might get crushed by something like a sword, lol. Maybe give them a toothpick. /j

♦️ Can Picayunes speak?
Picayunes are based on corvids (and pigeons; unrelated), and can talk in the same manner as a corvid would. So feel free to give your pet a personality and let them speak as you please, just note that their speech patterns sound a little automated as they learn through mimicking noises. This also means they can make sound effects etc. if they so choose to.

♦️ Do Picayune migrate and where do they usually live?
Usually, they do migrate, but it's hard for them to do this by foot, so they will often hibernate if they cannot migrate. They are typically found just about anywhere in the world that isn't freezing cold.
They will also find refuge in precarious locations surrounding a Cloakats home if given the chance, They rarely intentionally find their way INTO a house, however.

♦️ Can my Picayune have different eyes?
Generally no, they are known for their rather curious larger eyes, so the shape will have to stay about the same, however, you can set them to having a certain emote/vibes by default via using their eyelids for emotion.
Picayunes don't look like they physically have a pupil, but they can see just fine. Please do not define the pupil of the Picayune noticeably so unless you apply a potion via the Travelling Merchants shop.

♦️ If someone already made an IRL bird into a Picayune, can I still make that irl bird too?
Absolutely, irl birds are allowed to be made more than once, so long as it's not obvious you're doing it out of spite or anything. Naturally existing birds aren't copywritten, after all.

♦️ If someone made a specific aesthetic, theme, or character (inspired) Picayune, can I still make that subject as a Picayune too?
If a design based on a thing/aesthetic is made into a Picayune, you are welcome to make that aesthetic or character inspired of Picayune as well, so long as you're not stealing the same exact design from the other person or copywritten character. Please change enough things like symbols, colors, accessories, or markings if you want a similar Picayune as someone else. We might ask you to change anything if the design you based on another person's design or a copywritten character is too obvious!

♦️ What are the predators and prey of Picayune?
Predators:
- Anzujo - Will often ragdoll them like a toy. Eats them if they get the chance.
- Bramboa - # 1 threat, actively seek for Picayune.
- Grottogulp - Will eat them if they come across them as a chance opportunity, however them crossing paths is rare.
- Fluxwing - Fluxwing will often just kill them for sport.
- Moon Bloom - chance opportunity; will eat them whenever they stumble across one. The picayune has to get tangled in it, however.

Prey:
- Bugs
- Small lizards/critters

♦️ What is the mannerisms of a Picayune?
Curious and a little cautious. They are very social with one another and usually work together to get things like food and shiny things. They are very docile when fed and will tell other Picayunes of your mannerisms around them so they know what to expect.

♦️ What are the eating mannerisms of a Picayune?
They most commonly consume plants like seeds, nuts, berries, other plant matter, and insects, but will also consume other things if the first mentioned category is sparce. They will eat just about anything another creature offers them, but aren't hugely keen on consuming meat or seafood.

♦️ How big are Picayunes?
Picayunes can grow to be a total of 8 inches tall without including their head crest. They Cannot grow bigger than this, but can absolutely be smaller if wanted.

♦️ You mention a lot about Picayunes mimicking other birds, does this mean parts as well?
Yes and no! Picayunes generally mimic their surroundings or other birds for camouflage purposes, so generally, it's just the feathers that will change.
Just shoot me a WIP sketch of whatever non-feather part related to other birds you might want to mimic into a Picayune's design and I'll most likely just give it a pass so long as the WIP abides by the anatomy guidelines!

♦️ Can I make a Picayune based on my own OC/sona/Cloakat?
Absolutely, go for it. In this house, we love a mini-me pet!

♦️ You say they were created "circa ~2014" Why so long ago?
I made these guys as a common bird in a series I've put on the back burner called "Cities End", the story itself I'd worked on between 2008-2014, then set it down for another story of mine called "The Keeper" in 2013-2015 and also set down for now. These birds are present in both series. I've chosen to bring these guys into the Cloakat world so people could have fun with these funky little lads as well. :>

♦️ Did anything inspire the Picayune?
OFF (The Game)'s Bad Batter mouth style and my love for birds.

Tempo Slug

Tempo Slug Aqua Tempo

What are Tempo Slugs?
Tempo Slug are nudibranch-like creatures who love to live by/in saltwater sources. Tempo Slug's cannot handly freshwater environments. Tempo Slug's tend to stay by beachsides or underwater and stand on their hind legs, then vibrating their rhinophores letting out a small tune as they seemingly squeak and sing to draw in prey like small insects and other small creatures to consume as if using a sirens song. Usually, this tune is better heard by smaller creatures and is also more intense for smaller creatures, so it doesn't generally affect bigger creatures in such a hypnotic way. They will also use these songs to attract others of their kind to befriend or court with. Tempo Slug's also have a barb in place of their tongue that has a small hollow point that they use to inject prey with venom to help make their meals easy to consume, this barb can sometimes be used as a resource by Cloakats as well as their venom or slime they emit, which also has toxic properties that can be deadly to Cloakat They will typically use this venom to tip their weapons in to cause a more delay attack. Tempo Slug's are generally very tame but rather skittish, so catching one can be tricky as they're fast once in the water, even for their small plump size. You will also have to watch out as they're both venomous and slimy when attempting the catch and will "bite" when threatened. Tempo Slug are also very much so interested in tunes and songs in general so sometimes playing some sort of melody might catch one's interest, they might even catch on and sing as well. They are good with mimicry and will sometimes sing tunes and sounds they hear around them as well, often making their own songs in the process. Tempo Slugs can be taught humanoid language and generally sound elegant/delicate with the way they carry their voices, often giving off a rather tranquil vibe when speaking. Teaching a Tempo Slug to do various things is also possible. Tempo Slug also almost always have a mantle separating the top and bottom of their body, this mantle tends to wiggle when they sing or speak, offering a sort of flowing look to their body when emitting any sort of sound.

♦️ How do I get one?
Tempo Slug adopts or MYOs can be acquired for purchase from the site for shards or for USD. They can also be given out randomly or for raffles.

♦️ What traits can I give my Tempo Slugs naturally?
- Any features that are naturally on any nudibranch. Tempo Slug's visualys can vastly look different from slug to slug, but will have a baseline anatomy type you can work on top of.
- Clothes and Accessories
- Different amounts of nubs or cerata on the body
- Different types of rhinophore on the head/face
- Objects on body so long as it doesn't mimic elements like nature (excess flowers/plants) and other things or mimics food body (frosting/drizzle etc.)

- fur/hair (Not naturally on a Tempo Slug)
- elemental or crystal textures
- multiple eyes (6 extra max)

- Changing their height with a potion to be outside what is considered normal.

♦️ Is there a gender difference?
No. If you own one, that is for you to decide if you want them to look like any societal gender at all.

♦️ Can I dress up my Tempo Slugs?
Typically wild Tempo Slug will not wear clothes at all. They generally secrete a lot of slime which causes clothes/accessories to stick to their skin or fall off, but it IS possible to have them wear clothes/accessories, yes. Please note that an application of clothes cannot be used in place of mimicking the Pet Potion of Oddities traits, we will kindly ask you to remove the accessories or clothes if they end up mimicking potion traits.

♦️ Can my Tempo Slugs be a different body type?
Generally, Tempo Slug are naturally very fat/burly/plump, so them being skinnier means they are not well taken care of/underfed, it is recommended to keep them at a fatter shape, but if you so wish to make a skinnier Tempo Slug, then so be it.

♦️ What if I want to give my Tempo Slugs scars or missing parts?
You can absolutely do this within reason, we don't want like- a headless or floating limb Tempo Slug running around scaring the cloakids or anything, though.

♦️ Can I change the rhinophores/ceratas on the Tempo Slugs head?
Yes! So long as it abides by the guidelines of 1-2 sets of rhinophores on the head as 1 set is at least required so the Slug can "speak" and is required.

♦️ Can I change the tail of my Tempo Slugs?
Yes and no. Their tails will generally always mimic a nudibranch's hind in some way (The bustle of gills), but will have a fat tail by default. It can be long, cropped, short, missing (gills required still), have nubs/burs/cerata if wanted. The Tempo Slug requires a small cluster of gills at the base of its tail regardless.

♦️ How long do Tempo Slugs live?
Generally up to a year in the wild. They can sometimes reach the age of 4-5 years old in captivity.

♦️ Can my Tempo Slug be made of different materials?
Generally, Tempo Slugs are soft, squishy, and slimy, so to get one to be made of a different material, you would need a Pet Potion of Oddities!

♦️ What are the limits on coloring a Tempo Slug?
Tempo Slugs can look like just about anything with the rules of the previous question in mind.
They can look like any natural existing nudibranchs, or look imaginary, like the aesthetics of different things such as vaporwave, cottagecore, gamer-inspired, webcore, etc. Just make sure that you have inspiration for a Tempo Slug that is not a carbon copy of the existing copywritten character and is changed in some way. A Pet potion of Oddities will be required for elemental, clear, or crystal textures.

♦️ Can my Tempo Slug have powers?
They can have water, poison/venomous, and sound-related powers!

♦️ Can Tempo Slugs speak?
Yes, while they prefer to chitter, sing, and squeak, they can be taught to talk. They have rather elegant-sounding voices and can give off a soothing vibe when speaking.

♦️ Do Tempo Slug migrate and where do they usually live?
Tempo Slugs will generally migrate to cooler waters, so they are often found more north of the island or out early in the morning, after sunset, or out during the night time as they prefer more cool temperatures. They also do not do well in arctic/winter weather, however. They are found strictly in and around saltwater sources and cannot handle freshwater environments.

♦️ Can my Tempo Slug have different eyes?
Technically no. This species tends to always have a "closed eye" look and generally their eyes will never be visually open to others. You CAN make a reference of this eye as a call-out in the reference sheet, but know 99.9% of the time that the slug's eyes will be perceived as "closed". They follow the same rule as Waltzing Whelk eyes where they seem to be small and beady in visuals.

♦️ If someone already made an IRL nudibranch/seabunny into a Tempo Slug, can I still make that irl snail too?
Absolutely, irl nudibranchs/sea bunnies are allowed to be made more than once, so long as it's not obvious you're doing it out of spite or anything. Naturally existing nudibranch/seabunnies aren't copywritten, after all.

♦️ If someone made a specific aesthetic, theme, or character (inspired) Tempo Slug, can I still make that subject as a Tempo Slug too?
If a design based on a thing/aesthetic is made into a Tempo Slug, you are welcome to make that aesthetic or character inspired of Tempo Slug as well, so long as you're not stealing the same exact design from the other person or copywritten character. Please change enough things like symbols, colors, accessories, or markings if you want a similar Tempo Slug as someone else. We might ask you to change anything if the design you based on another person's design or a copywritten character is too obvious!

♦️ What are the predators and prey of Tempo Slug
Predators:
- Xierub - Chance opportunity. It is incredibly rare, but they won't hesitate to eat one.
Not many others hunt them as they are highly venomous to most creatures.

Prey:
- bugs
- small creatures
- smaller fish or generally water-dwelling creatures
-smaller Picayunes

♦️ What is the mannerisms of a Tempo Slug?
Curious and a little cautious. They are very social with one another and usually like to gather with one another, or their similar freshwater counterpart, the Waltzing Whelk, to sing together and socialize. They will only sting when threatened, but would rather secrete an excessive amount of mouth-numbing slime to escape, rather than attack.

♦️ What are the eating mannerisms of a Tempo Slug?
They most commonly consume living creatures in their surroundings, which mostly means seafood, but also other generalized meat creatures. They do not eat insects or plants.

♦️ Can I make my Tempo Slug look Distorted like from lore?
At the moment, this isn't possible until we work out more of the story and let the members learn more about the distorted. Canon appearing Distorted looking companions will not be accepted on the masterlist at this time, but may be in the future. It is also worth noting that a creature being distorted is a permanent effect and cannot be reversed, even if this has an "alt form" tab on the masterlist images for entries, it is more-so to show the before and after effects of a distorted creature.

♦️ How big are Tempo Slug?
Tempo Slug are on average 1-8 inches tall, but can be 1-24 inches long in length. When born, they can obviously be smaller, but will at minimum be 1 inch tall. Please note that Tempo Slug walk on all 4's so this height is from the from legs to the top of the head and doesn't include the rhinophores size. Rhinophore size can't be outrageous.

♦️ Can I make a Tempo Slug based on my own OC/sona/Cloakat?
Absolutely, go for it. In this house, we love a mini-me pet!

♦️ Did anything inspire the Tempo Slug?
Splatoon 1's Anne and Moe as well as Pokemon's Gastrodon. Also my love for nudibranchs/sea bunnies.

Waltzing Whelk

Waltzing Whelk Tempo Toxin

What are Waltzing Whelks?
Waltzing Whelk are snail-like creatures who love to live by freshwater sources. While it is rare to find versions that can do salt water, it is not unheard of. Waltzing Whelk's tend to stay by pondsides or other water sources and stand on their hind legs, then vibrating their antennae letting out a small tune as they seemingly squeak and sing to draw in prey like small insects and other small creatures to consume as if using a sirens song. Usually, this tune is better heard by smaller creatures and is also more intense for smaller creatures, so it doesn't generally affect bigger creatures in such a hypnotic way. They will also use these songs to attract others of their kind to befriend or court with. Waltzing Whelk's also have a barb in place of their tongue that has a small hollow point that they use to inject prey with venom to help make their meals easy to consume, this barb can sometimes be used as a resource by Cloakats as well as their venom or slime they emit, which also has toxic properties that act as a numbing agent to help Cloakat with various medicinal purposes. Waltzing Whelk's are generally very tame but rather skittish, so catching one can be tricky as they're fast once in the water, even for their small plump size. You will also have to watch out as they're both venomous and slimy when attempting the catch and will "bite" when threatened. Waltzing Whelk are also very much so interested in tunes and songs in general so sometimes playing some sort of melody might catch one's interest, they might even catch on and sing as well. They are good with mimicry and will sometimes sing tunes and sounds they hear around them as well, often making their own songs in the process. While they're good with mimicry, their humanoid language learning is a little finicky, and while they CAN be taught humanoid language, it's often hard to fully understand as their voices might be small and hard to hear. Teaching a Waltzing Whelk to do various things is also possible. They all have a strip going down both sides of their body, starting from their mouth and trailing down to the tip of their tail and up the other side. This strip on their body is their venom gland, so to speak, and will generally look like it's glowing or has a sort of electric texture underneath. This gland will also yank, jiggle, wiggle, and jolt when they speak, almost like audio waves. Removing this gland much like a shrimp's vein is important when wanting to consume one as not removing them can cause pain and discomfort when eating.

- Clothes and Accessories
- Different amounts of nubs or burs on the body
- Different types of antennae on the head/face

♦️What Isn't allowed when making a Waltzing Whelk?
- The first would be exceeding the limitations listed above in the guideline about what is naturally allowed for a Picayune, which also goes for the limitations of what's able to be added via potions.
- Traits: Alternating Appendages, Dominic's Binding, Cavemind, and Alt Palette. More may be added if something is considered "too OP"
- Most rules with Cloakats non-stackable traits go for companions as well.
- Elemental powers unless the companion has the matching elemental parts (required another potion to add powers)
- Changing their height with a potion to be outside what is considered normal.

♦️ Is there a gender difference?
No. If you own one, that is for you to decide if you want them to look like any societal gender at all.

♦️ Can I Dress up my Waltzing Whelks?
Typically wild Waltzing Whelk will not wear clothes at all.

♦️ Can my Waltzing Whelks be a different body type?
Generally, Waltzing Whelk are naturally very fat/burly/plump, so them being skinnier means they are not well taken care of/underfed, it is recommended to keep them at a fatter shape, but if you so wish to make a skinnier Waltzing Whelk, then so be it.

♦️ What if I want to give my Waltzing Whelks scars or missing parts?
You can absolutely do this within reason, we don't want like- a headless or floating limb Waltzing Whelk running around scaring the cloakids or anything, though.

♦️ Can I change the antennas/burs on the Waltzing Whelks head?
Yes! So long as it abides by the guidelines of 1-3 sets of antennas/burs on the head as 1 set is at least required so the Whelk can "speak". Their Nares or (nose antennas) are required by default.

♦️ Can I change the tail of my Waltzing Whelks?
Yes and no. Mostly their tails will more or less look like a short fat triangle. It's always fat in shape and very short. if you want it to be longer or have things like "devils n dragons" trait, fins, and other things on the tail that arent burs, nubs, spikes etc, it will require a potion.

♦️ How long do Waltzing Whelks live?
Generally 5-10 years in the wild. They can sometimes reach the age of 15 in captivity.

♦️ Can my Waltzing Whelk be made of different materials?
Generally, Waltzing Whelks are soft, squishy, and slimy, so to get one to be made of a different material, you would need a Pet Potion of Oddities!

♦️ What are the limits on coloring a Waltzing Whelk?
Waltzing Whelks can look like just about anything with the rules of the previous question in mind.
They can look like any natural existing snail, or look imaginary, like the aesthetics of different things such as vaporwave, cottagecore, gamer-inspired, webcore, etc. Just make sure that you have inspiration for a Waltzing Whelk that is not a carbon copy of the existing copywritten character and is changed in some way. Some colorations like crystal/elemental or clear textures require a Pet Potion of Oddities to add this coloration typing.

♦️ Can my Waltzing Whelk have powers?
They can have water, electric, poison/venomous, and sound-related powers!

♦️ Can Waltzing Whelks speak?
Yes, while they prefer to chitter, sing, and squeak, they can be taught to talk. They might be hard to hear however as they are rather small.

♦️ Do Waltzing Whelk migrate and where do they usually live?
Usually, they do migrate, but it's hard for them to do this by foot, so they will often hibernate if they cannot migrate but will more often than not swim upstream if the current isn't too hard on them. They are typically found just about anywhere in the world that isn't freezing cold. Waltzing Whelk will generally be downstream in warmer weather, and upstream or under rocks/in caves when in colder weather, during night time, or when in mating season. Waltzing Whelk will most often be found around freshwater locations.

♦️ Can my Waltzing Whelk have different eyes?
They can, yes. While their default eyes are generally a beady eye and is recommended to do this by default, it is totally possible to give them a different artistic eye if wanted, just make sure that they're very small in general.

♦️ If someone already made an IRL snail into a Waltzing Whelk, can I still make that irl snail too?
Absolutely, irl snails are allowed to be made more than once, so long as it's not obvious you're doing it out of spite or anything. Naturally existing snails aren't copywritten, after all.

♦️ If someone made a specific aesthetic, theme, or character (inspired) Waltzing Whelk, can I still make that subject as a Waltzing Whelk too?
If a design based on a thing/aesthetic is made into a Waltzing Whelk, you are welcome to make that aesthetic or character inspired of Waltzing Whelk as well, so long as you're not stealing the same exact design from the other person or copywritten character. Please change enough things like symbols, colors, accessories, or markings if you want a similar Waltzing Whelk as someone else. We might ask you to change anything if the design you based on another person's design or a copywritten character is too obvious!

♦️ What are the predators and prey of Waltzing Whelk?
Predators:
- Grottogulp - Will eat them if they come across them as a chance opportunity, however them crossing paths is rare.
- Kit Demon - Likes to eat them intentionally to acquire a 'high'.
- Moon Bloom - chance opportunity, will rarely eat them if desperate enough.
- Picayune - Will sometimes eat them by mistake. Will generally die or be badly sick in the process.
- Waning Lumis - chance opportunity. Will eat one if they need to. It knows how to remove their venom sack naturally.
- Xierub - #1 issue, will actively seek them out if given the chance.

Prey:
- Bugs
- Small lizards/critters
- Fish or small water-derived creatures
- Smaller Picayunes

♦️ What is the mannerisms of a Waltzing Whelk?
Curious and a little cautious. They are very social with one another and usually like to gather with one another, or their similar saltwater counterpart, the Tempo Slug, to sing together and socialize. They will only sting when threatened, but would rather secrete an excessive amount of mouth-numbing slime to escape, rather than attack.

♦️ What are the eating mannerisms of a Waltzing Whelk?
They will generally consume plants very regularly. They will also spear meat-content creatures like seafood and other things if needed, but generally prefer plants. They are mostly fans of vegetables and are partly considered pests to crops. Eating bugs is highly uncommon and only eaten if none of the other mentioned sources are available.

♦️ Can I make my Waltzing Whelk look Distorted like from lore?
