Anatomy Guidelines

This section is here just to help people out with species anatomy.

Accessability/Disability

Things like scars, scratches, top surgery scars, missing limbs, burn victim scars, and prosthetic parts are not traits and aren't regulated. Feel free to add anything you find comfort in related to these with your Cloakat. Please just be respectful when representing any of these things! Please just make sure if the Cloakat is missing any parts that it is not gorey, maybe make them dated scars or healed skin (This is ONLY here for folks who might try to use this to make a gore Cloakat, please be respectful, and make someone you love or can relate to).  And make sure prosthetic parts are respectfully medically accurate if you can! Feel free to stylize and decorate this to your hearts content, just please be sure it looks like an aid in some way!

Things like seeing glasses, blind canes, wheelchairs, hearing aids, etc. are not regulated behind the "Accessories/Other Clothes (Common)" trait, so even if you have a Standard MYO Cloakat, we will not lock these important things behind a trait rarity. Please enjoy your Cloakat!

Side note:
This also goes for companions/pets 100%

Body

Body Specific Rules:
- The body can be any bodily humanoid shape, so long as it stays on model to the integrity of what a Cloakat generally looks like.
- The body can't be drawn in a way that feeds into a fetish, we have people of all ages here, so please be kind to minors.
- Body Category is specifically for traits that affect one or more parts of the body as a whole.
- This is a little different from the skin trait section, as this more so handles textures than parts.
- If a trait is marked "Standard" please leave it on their traits list by default unless another trait in the section overtakes the trait. (Like if a shape or texture completely changes from the standard traits description)

<a href="https://www.cloakat.com/world/trait-categories?name=Skin/Fur" class="display-category">Skin/Fur</a>

Skin/Fur

Skin/Fur Specific Rules:
- By default, Cloakats have a short fur, they can have different textures, furs, and skins with higher rarities.
- The fur of the Cloakat can vary in length, this also includes tufts, hair, haircuts, and facial hair so long as it isn't drawn in a loophole fashion.
-  If a trait is marked "Standard" please leave it on their traits list by default unless another trait in the section overtakes the trait. (Like if a shape or texture completely changes from the standard traits description)

<a href="https://www.cloakat.com/world/trait-categories?name=Head" class="display-category">Head</a>

Head

Head-specific Rules:
- The head is generally a rounded shape but can slightly differ with different patterns of things like head and cheek fur or things like whiskers, crests, spikes, etc.
- The Cloakat's head has evolved to Not Have Eyes as they rely on their hearing to see (They're bat monsters), so they will never have actual eyes on the head itself regardless of the area they are placed.
- Above Cont.: You can partially get around this with patterns that look like eyes only on higher rarities.  You can also include masks WITH eyes on them  (Masked Trait) CANNOT have emoting/moving eyes or changing expressions as this is a mask, not a sentient part of the Cloakat.
- The Ears of a Cloakat can be any bat ear within reason. This includes bat ears owned by fictional IP characters as well.
- You are to maintain adding the tragus and stripes in the ear of a Cloakat when creating one to further clarify that these monsters are bat-like specifically!
- If a trait is marked "Standard" please leave it on their traits list by default unless another trait in the section overtakes the trait. (Like if a shape or texture completely changes from the standard traits description)

<a href="https://www.cloakat.com/world/trait-categories?name=Teeth" class="display-category">Teeth</a>

Teeth

Teeth-specific Rules:
- The Teeth type of the Cloakat, by default, are enamel, but can be other materials from the "skin" section unless stated otherwise.
- The Teeth look like fangs with smaller pointed teeth in the mouth to further clarify that they are a bat monster specifically!
- The fangs of a Cloakat are in their traditional most well known location. Nosferatu-like fangs are of higher rarity.
- Multiple teeth can't be fangs at the same time outside the initial pair without other traits like foo dog, saber, or troll.
- If a trait is marked "Standard" please leave it on their traits list by default unless another trait in the section overtakes the trait. (Like if a shape or texture completely changes from the standard traits description)

<a href="https://www.cloakat.com/world/trait-categories?name=Mouth" class="display-category">Mouth</a>

Mouth

Mouth-Specific Rules:
- The Cloakats mouth is not cat-like but can make a kitty-like expression if wanted. It is more of a neutral human expression at its resting position.
- The mouth is to stay positioned at the front of the face unless a second mouth trait is implemented (check this trait for rules)
- If a trait is marked "Standard" please leave it on their traits list by default unless another trait in the section overtakes the trait. (Like if a shape or texture completely changes from the standard traits description)

<a href="https://www.cloakat.com/world/trait-categories?name=Tongue" class="display-category">Tongue</a>

Tongue

Tongue-Specific Rules:
- The Tongue of the Cloakat is similar to that of a humans, whereas it is short fat and rounded in size and shape.
- Cloakats do not naturally have hugely long tongues without a more rare "long tongue" or "croaking Tongue" trait implimented.
- If a trait is marked "Standard" please leave it on their traits list by default unless another trait in the section overtakes the trait. (Like if a shape or texture completely changes from the standard traits description)

<a href="https://www.cloakat.com/world/trait-categories?name=Claws" class="display-category">Claws</a>

Claws

Claw-Specific Rules:
- Cloakats do NOT  have paws, they are NOT cat-like shapes either as these are monster bats, not cats.
- The entire "finger" of the Cloakat is a claw, they do not have any finger before the claw starts at their palms.
- There is cartoon logic that allows the claws, themselves, to bend.
- These claws are huge, bulky and conal by default, but can be different sizes and shapes with higher rarity.
- The claws have 3 "fingers" and a "thumb". They have 4 claws total, Never 5 total.
- If a trait is marked "Standard" please leave it on their traits list by default unless another trait in the section overtakes the trait. (Like if a shape or texture completely changes from the standard traits description)

<a href="https://www.cloakat.com/world/trait-categories?name=Arms" class="display-category">Arms</a>

Arms

Arm-specific Rules:
- ALL Cloakat can fly/float unless they have stunted arms. This makes the flight trait mandatory unless one has the stunted arm trait.
- The arms HAVE to be longer than the body when down to the sides of the Cloakat. They usually drag on the floor. They do not end at the waist nor knees.
- The wrist/palms will drag on the floor in a resting stage when not walking. Their long arms are intentional in design. A Cloakat cannot have arms shorter than the length of their body/at their feet unless they have stunted arms, which is very rare for their species.
- Their arms store the magic-like powers that help them to float and fly, so shorter or missing arms can impede their ability to do so, or not allow them to fly at all if the length or lack of arm is serious enough.
- Their arms can also stretch very far, generally 2-3 times their body length, rarely up to 5x their body length.
- They will often use this sticky hand-like grab to quickly get to different levels of the location they are currently on.
- Their arms are always large and bulky since they are made of pure muscle, they are Not human proportionate.
- They lack bones in their arms, they do not have elbows and can bend, twist, and turn at any point of the arm. The hand, itself, has skeletal structure, however.
- If a trait is marked "Standard" please leave it on their traits list by default unless another trait in the section overtakes the trait. (Like if a shape or texture completely changes from the standard traits description)

<a href="https://www.cloakat.com/world/trait-categories?name=Tail" class="display-category">Tail</a>

Tail

Tail-specific Traits:
- When drawing the tail, it HAS to be very fat in the middle and taper out at the end. Similar to a fox tail's shape.
- Their tail is HUGE and fat in shape, it is by no means naturally skinny/tiny without higher rarity.
- The area it attaches to the body is very skinny, just like a fox tail.
- This tail is generally about 2-2.5x the size of the Cloakats size in height.
- The tail is dexterous and can spring, grab, and hold things.
- The tail is mostly meat with thin fur on it unless certain traits like ponytail is attached.
- If a trait is marked "Standard" please leave it on their traits list by default unless another trait in the section overtakes the trait. (Like if a shape or texture completely changes from the standard traits description)

<a href="https://www.cloakat.com/world/trait-categories?name=Cloak" class="display-category">Cloak</a>

Cloak

Cloak-specific Rules:
- The cloak section refers to the cloak ATTACHED to the Cloakat, or the extra clothes it sports.
- The cloak of the Cloakat is attached directly to the Cloakat like skin. It's like a lizard's skin and is inspired by the Pokémon, Scrafty, also hence, the hood.
- The cloak of the Cloakat cannot be removed, since it's the skin of the Cloakat.
- The cloak, by default, is a natural disguise of the CLoakat that is to look like a human's clothes. Specifically a hoodie.
- Hoods are required unless you have a higher rarity trait to remove it. This hood must have east that the Cloakats ears can go into.
- Draw strings are optional, and the hood can have most patterns or shapes wanted. Some info related to this may be lightly traited since it's part of their skin.
- Pockets are required to be on the cloak Somewhere since Cloakats are marsupial and any gender of Cloakat can have them.
- Cloakats can absolutely have cloaks that look like other article of clothes at higher rarities, don't be afraid to draw just about anything out for an "outfit" because most is possible in one of the rarity brackets.
- If a trait is marked "Standard" please leave it on their traits list by default unless another trait in the section overtakes the trait. (Like if a shape or texture completely changes from the standard traits description)
- Their cloaks can be a bit tattered, tone, have wear and tare, holes, cuts, scratches, bruises, and other things in it as if looking like harmed skin if wanted.
- Some cloaks can look like it's separated from the skin on the arms, but is always directly attached to the Cloakats skin via the torso and can never fully come off.

<a href="https://www.cloakat.com/world/trait-categories?name=Wings" class="display-category">Wings</a>

Wings

Wing-specific Rules:
- Most Cloakat generally have some sort of wings since they're inspired by bats, they aren't REQUIRED by default, but is a very common option in Cloakats. They're common yet optional, since the magic and their ability to fly is in their arms. (Cartoon logic magic) Wings allow a Cloakat to fly higher and at a faster velocity as it combines with the magic stored in their arms. So, wings are optional yet important.
- Wing Location: Please be courteous about placing wings in locations that aren't considered inappropriate. Just be reasonable with placement!
- Wings on the head cannot be done without the Angelic ear or Batty Ear Trait in place, as wings on the head can be used to mimic these traits.
- Wing size: Wing sizes are free rein, just be reasonable when making their sizes for your Cloakat. They cannot be Absolutely Gigantic, or Unreasonably small.
- Wing sizes can mix and match per wing if you want. Wing types can also be matched (like left is a devil wing and right is an angel wing)
- If a trait is marked "Standard" please leave it on their traits list by default unless another trait in the section overtakes the trait. (Like if a shape or texture completely changes from the standard traits description)
- Wings can be retractable/disappear at a slightly higher rarity, but are out at all times in lower rarity as technically magic is involved to "hide" their wings.

<a href="https://www.cloakat.com/world/trait-categories?name=Height" class="display-category">Height</a>

Height

Height-specific Traits:
- Cloakats are naturally very small in size, averaging about 2'5"ft tall. They rarely exceed 4ft in height.
- Cloakats can span between 1-5ft naturally, but never any smaller nor bigger outside of the anomaly height of The Elder Bat.
- Cloakats cannot have powers that change their height.
- Only exception technicality as that when a Cloakat takes its echo form, it is usually about a foot tall in height for the most part.
- Cloakats height traits take a more natural approach, rather than a species' "fun" approach at a largely broad selection as it helps more realistically fit them into the world for very specific lore-related purposes. This is also on par with the General size of bats in the real world's possible heights as well.
- If a trait is marked "Standard" please leave it on their traits list by default unless another trait in the section overtakes the trait. (Like if a shape or texture completely changes from the standard traits description)

Power Limits

Power-specific Rules:
- Each Cloakat has a limited amount of powers they are able to control, generally the amount of power a Cloakat can wield is determined by their overall rarity. This also helps limit the possibility of "god modding" in the community, especially when battling vs other Cloakats is taken into consideration. This is solemnly for balancing purposes.
Cloakats live in a world built for battle, although they keep themselves generally away from this, they often have powers for battle or generally useful purposes in their community.

- If power is being chosen by a client for their Cloakat, It HAS to make some sort of sense in relation to the Bat. I.E: A Cloakat themed around the sea/ocean generally shouldn't have FIRE powers.

- Please only choose powers that make sense, you don't HAVE to choose as many powers as possible for your rarity of Cloakats limit of powers. These are limits, not mandatory. Powers that don't make sense or without explanation might be rejected to prevent "god-modding".

- Cloakats Cannot Transform or Shapeshift.

- Cloakats Cannot have powers that change their size.

- Rarity of Cloakat indicates the limited number of powers they can have at one given time. This limit is put in place to prevent potential "god-modding"

- The number of powers includes the default flying power. Please include the flying power on your cloakat as a mandatory power. All Cloakat can float/fly.

- If a trait is marked "Standard" please leave it on their traits list by default unless another trait in the section overtakes the trait. If you "sacrifice" your Cloakats ability to fly, you're welcome to choose another power in its place, otherwise, flying powers are mandatory and cannot be "cheesed" with spatial, wind, time, thematical, or other powers/objects that allow your Cloakat to fly. Only other technicality of this is that Cloakats can only sacrifice their flight power if they are missing some, one, or more of their arms, or if they have the stunted arms trait.

Hair

-Hair Style is not limited; Hair can be any style.

-Hair consistency is not limited either, it can be thick strands, thin, curly, wavy, wiry, straight, etc.

-You are not limited to just head hair, facial hair is perfectly fine as well.

-Hair cuts can be added, subtracted, or changed with the use of a hair salon ticket.

Colors

Color-Specific Rules:
- Any color or pattern is welcome on the skin/fur of the Cloakat within reason.
- Examples for things fine: single color, more than one color, most any patterns.

Things not allowed unless given the proper trait:
- Animated skins, textures, or patterns without a higher rarity trait.
- Do not give it a fur pattern that is used to mimic another trait higher than its current rarity or eye-shaped patterns. (Like elemental textures)
- Elemental patterns on the Cloakat's skin needs it to have said element as its power or elemental parts trait to have a mostly elemental pattern. Small callouts or single-time use single pattern (1) is fine on the cloak or clothes, so long as it isn't rendered in such a way it looks real.
- Clear (see-through) Cloakats are not allowed unless you use traits like "inanimate skin" (see-through plastic), ghost/ecto-bone skin. Guts of the Cloakat generally aren't visible unless given a horror theme or undead skin.
- Color shifting, even if you have a chameleon or otherwise color-shifting bat, is not allowed without the appropriate trait. (Alt Palette or animated skin trait)

<a href="https://www.cloakat.com/world/trait-categories?name=Legs" class="display-category">Legs</a>

Legs

Leg-specifc Rules:
- Leg shape generally stays the same. 3 claws/toes + Plantigrade only. The legs and feet can have many different patterns, colors, body builds, etc.
- No digitigrade legs. If any ML Cloakats are standing on their heel, it is an action pose and NOT digitigrade feet or has "accidentally slipped through notice".
- No hooves/feline paws or changing the 3-claw design to intentionally look like other animals, especially cat claws/paws, Please.
- The legs/feet can't be drawn in a way that feeds into a fetish.
- There are 2 types of Claw types generally, check Cloakat #000 and #001 to see the foot difference until a guide can be made.

Companion Traits

Traits specifically for Companions. Usually this will just be their base "companion" trait, or when an Oddities potion is applied to a Companion.
