Traits
Trait Checking and Format (Anatomy Guidelines)
Please refer to this friendly user guide to make sure all anatomy is understood!
This is here to help FTO's out!
This also has a trait checking template in it to, please refer to this when doing a trait check in the server or before you submit your MYOs
This also applies to Companions as well.
Guide: https://www.cloakat.com/info/MYOGuide
Glowing Parts (Common)
Any part of the body has the ability to glow independently or all together. Glow can be controlled to"turn on and off" as the user wishes, or fade + pulse in intensity.
Burs and Nubs (Common)
Spikes, thorns, burs, or bumps anywhere on the body. Can be in a pattern like dorsal crest from start of head to tip of tail, knuckle spikes, or in any randomized pattern you wish.
Oozing Parts (Uncommon)
Some Cloakat might drip or ooze something related to their body. Sometimes a tail could be water and drip or be made of slime, etc.
Objects on Body (Common)
Cloakats often have objects on their body, it can be things like sprinkles, stray flakes, confetti, non-attached false flowers, etc. but cannot be used to do things like jewels embedded into the skin or other things to mimic higher traits. These pair as sort of decorations or fascinators and are separate from things like clothes since these are more like objects rather than accessories. Often sweets related Cloakat or those with slime parts have objects on/in them. Slime bats often fill their slime parts with stimming objects like small plastic fruits, sparkles, flakes, etc.
Please note that adding too much food or elemental objects such as foliage will lean too much into the territory of food body or elemental body and will need the proper trait for said traits to work. If it is a Cloakat with foliage, it has to be small amounts, if it's large amounts, it will read more as a Cloakat MADE of plants. This mostly goes for Cloakats with vines or flower buds spread around the body. And this goes the same for food on the body. Things like frosting and drizzle needs food body and can't use this OR slime parts to mimic this trait. This is a general rule for all other traits that this trait can be used to loophole mimic, so please do not use this trait as a loophole! Adding items that can "loophole" the system will not be tolerated. Eye-like objects is not allowed.
You have to specify which part is the object on the body and that it is removable/detachable and not a permanent fixture to the bat.
Bound (Rare)
Things like chains, shackles, and other binding things on the Cloakat. This also indicates that the Cloakat has committed some form of crime or was exiled from their main village location. This can be for more technically petty crimes like theft, battery, arson, etc on repeat offense and marks the Cloakat as generally dangerous. This trait does not contain or hold back the CLoakats powers by any means, it is a generally magically applied shackle of some sort to warn others of them as well a shame the offender. This is a lore-related trait. (The shackles MUST be visible, note Cloakat #009 for this)
Pet Parts (Epic)
The Cloakat has other parts on its body like fins, gills, dewlaps, waddles, etc., that generally belong to other animals so long as it holds up the integrity of what makes a Cloakat, a Cloakat still. Note: This is for PARTS of animals, this cannot be used to replace things like the mouth, ears, arms, changing the feet type, etc. These are essentially accents to the body. You cannot use this to put entire animal heads onto the body in a parasitic fashion etc. (webbed claws/feet are fine!) This also includes cloaks that have animal-like parts on them that are separate from the cloak trait "talking-hood". (Like fins on hood sides, sharkfins on the back of the cloak, etc. If tentacles are added, they CANNOT be added for sexual purposes. Parts from this section that act as extra appendages (like tentacles) can be retractable as part of this trait's quirks.
Odd Eyes (Legendary)
The Cloakat has eyes on somewhere on their body that is not the head, ears, mouth, or inappropriate location. (Note: It is a species rule that eyes cannot be on the head) The eye amount is up to you so long as you keep eyes off the whole head area of the bat, anywhere else on the body is fine within reason. Eyes can open and shut, look around, or shut in a way that it appears they aren't visibly there unless open, it is up to you how they look and what patterns or colors they are in. You can also put eyes on the clothes/cloak of the Cloakat so long as it doesn't look like the face has eyes due to it.
Seers Gaze (Mythic)
Seers Gaze allows the illusion of floating eyes to appear around the Cloakat like floating artifacts with this trait. The Cloakat has Floating eyes around its body. Where these eyes float and what they look like is up to you. Please do not be excessive with the eyes (Like, maybe limit it to about 10 eyes if possible) Avoid using this to make the face look like it has eyes! If you can tell the eyes arent attached to the body, anywhere is fine.
Dominic's Binding (Mythic)
A set of demonic halos that act as binding shackles on the arms and neck of the Cloakat. These bindings are put on Cloakats deemed "too powerful" and can be considered an immediate threat to their world in the most evil way. If you ask for this trait or use it on a Cloakat, know it has story elements to it that you need to respect, ask for details from the CS owner before requesting this trait if needed. The visuals of this trait are not flexible outside being tones of black, grey, or white with black to red glowing pins only, as its visuals have a finite purpose. The pins on these shackles generally stay retracted, but can pierce the skin of the wearer if they start to exert too much power, this way, the shackles start giving the wearer a penalty for using too much power, as the pins dig into the wearer, it saps their powers more progressively proportional to the power exerted. Too much force used Can and Will kill the wearer. These shackles always seem to sort of float around the wearer and never make definite contact unless the wearer is being pierced. Dominic's Bindings are applied by an otherworldly force that monitors their worlds and is not applied societally by their species. Once applied to a Cloakat, they cannot be removed by any creature other than the applier or someone granted permission to manipulate the shackles.
This trait when being used on a design cannot visually transfer to another AU/CS as this is story specific and the creator's own invention, please respect that it is a personal story item in this sense.
Cavemind (Mythic)
As a general concept, "Hivemind" generally means more than one character who acts or looks completely or nearly identical. So, let's say 2 characters may be twins and talk in sync, act in sync, or finish each other's sentences. Cavemind means you can have up to 3 total Cloakat who are "hivemind" in quality, however, this trait costs extra if a custom/MYO slot is purchased. The designs have to be identical/similar, however, you're welcome to change the palettes, hairstyle, and accessories of each Cloakat so long as you can tell they're practically the same character or that they're twins/triplets.
This trait cannot be stacked.
Cavemind costs extra when requesting a custom.
Cavemind needs 1 potion per extra character, so you would need 2 for 2 total extra characters when purchasing from the shop.
Anomaly (Anomaly)
THIS IS NOT A CHOOSABLE TRAIT
It is only placed here for notation purpose of Cloakats with banned quirks and traits.
A subcategory of an Anomaly-type trait where the Cloakat has a feature generally forbidden by the general design rules.
These happen either by being previously allowed or somehow "slipped under the radar", so to speak. If the Cloakat is redesigned, any feature marked as an "Anomaly" is to be removed.
"Anomaly" traits cannot be repeated nor purchasable as a rarity for a Cloakat.
On VERY RARE occasions, an anomaly can be approved by the Cloakat species owner if asked.
Carrot Burs (Event - Spring)
The Cloakat has carrot burs on its body.
The locations these can be are:
- Elbow spines
- Spine burs on head, back and tail
- Knuckles
- Horns
- Claws
- Whiskers
Event traits are easily mimicked by combining regular traits, please refrain from doing this. We understand that it is easy to just do this, but event traits exist sheerly for fun purposes, like having unique traits pop up around certain holidays to have something cool to look forward to.
Seashell Parts (Event - Summer)
The Cloakat has shell burs on its body.
The type of shell type is up to you but is generally most commonly spiral shells.

Festive Fascinators (Event - Winter)
The Cloakat sports ornaments on and around its body that you'd traditionally find on a Christmas tree.
The ornaments cannot be changed. Candycane colors and light colors can be changed if wanted.
The ornaments will generally be these things:
- Festive/holiday ornaments
- Stringlights
- Candycanes
- Garland

Peppermint Parts (Event - Winter)
The Cloakat's skin is made of peppermint OR has peppermint parts on its body.
The skin can also be more candy cane-like if wanted. Both candy cane and peppermint are fine.
The skin can look cracked if wanted and can be any color so long as it looks striped like a peppermint or wrapped like a candy cane.
Example locations these can be are:
- Elbow spines
- Spine burs on head, back, and tail
- Knuckles
- Horns

Floating Limbs (Epic)
The limbs of the Cloakat can float off/around its body at generally any attachment/detached point within reason.
Please keep the limbs you choose to make float a reasonable distance from the Cloakat, and do not remove so much of its body between the floating point that you can't tell what's missing from the body anymore. (keep them anatomically in line)
Floating Wings idea credited to LimeGhosty.
Separating floating limbs to its own trait from a preexisting trait is credited to TornPages.
Trailing Particles (Rare)
Particles that float around or off the Cloakat. Things like dust, particles, sparkles, and other things can shimmer off the Cloakat. Certain traits are needed for specific particles like elemental traits are needed for elemental powers, etc. Particles cannot be finite large objects, like the Levitating Objects trait, these generally spawn off and dissipate from the Cloakat.
