Traits

Levitating Objects

Levitating Objects (Epic)

Category: Body
Species: Cloakat

Props that seem to follow the Cloakat around, whether that be inanimate props of most kinds or otherwise non-attached fascinators of the Cloakat. Try to limit the floating parts to about maybe 10 pieces if the object in question is big or very prominent in the design. A good way to visualize what's good for this trait is to think in a sense that the Cloakat has a bit of a telekinesis effect around it, as household objects/items may float around them. (This is different from the particles trait as this is generally floating objects rather than small particles/dust)

Insect Parts

Insect Parts (Legendary)

Category: Body
Species: Cloakat

Insect accents that can be added to the body. Note that this does not mean you can completely change a Cloakat's body parts for that of an insect. Please try to keep the integrity of that makes a Cloakat, a Cloakat when adding the insect parts as these are additional accents to the body, not replacing arms for insect arms, etc. Cannot be used to make extra arms/legs/tails, or longer body/neck.

This can include but is not limited to: (Ask about other parts)
- external pedipalps
- antennae
- feelers
- sensory hairs
- external mandibles (Cannot be used to mimic the actual mandibles trait)
- webs on parts of body

Insect parts that can be used in combo with other traits:
- antennae can make moth antennae etc
- horned trait can make beetle horns

Some parts that already exist as traits:
- insect abdomen for tail
- insect wings
- mandibles (insect mouth-like)

Echo Form

Echo Form (Standard)

Category: Body
Species: Cloakat

All Cloakat have the ability to transform between their Cloakat form and a Bat form, much like a movie vampire would go between humanoid and bat. The bat form must resemble the Cloakat form in some way and be obvious. (Example: You can't add or remove so many traits/visuals that the bat looks very little to nothing like their Cloakat form.) The Echo form can have some or ALL the traits present in its Cloakat form, so long as it's still definably the same character. If something doesn't translate well to the Cloakat's Echo Form, they can be removed for simplicity.

Please remember to follow these general guides when creating your Cloakat's Echo Form:
- Drawing this form for your ML entry isn't manditory, but if you plan to create an echo form post-creation, please submit it for approval to the masterlist and we can add it to the characters masterlist entry.
- You can create a Cloakats masterlist entry using its echo form only as a base and make the Cloakat variant another time, however, it cannot remain without a Cloakat form forever.
- Posting to the masterlist with the echo form only also required all of its Cloakat form traits to be present when submitting initially. Please be sure to plan its traits out!
- Echo form is to remain plantigrade.
- The 3 fingers and 1 thumb claw carries over to the echo form. They should have a thumb to grab with, and 3 wing joints with claws at their tips.
- Traits of the Cloakat form can carry to the Echo Form.
- You can remove traits to simplify the echo form but Cannot add traits that don't exist on the Cloakat form.
- The Echo Form is to have a cuff on its neck to represent the hood from behind, unless your Cloakat lacks a hood.
- The Echo Form is required to have pockets (marsupial pouch).
- The tail remains on the Echo Form.
- Wings connect to the Cloakats sides like a natural bat's would, they do not come out of the shoulder/back, etc.
- Patterns and other things cannot be vastly different between Cloakat and echo form. It has to definably be the same creature between both forms.
- When in the Echo Form, the Cloakat's size will be between 3–12 inches (~8-30 cm) tall with a wingspan of 8–32 inches (~20-81 cm) wide.
- This information could be subject to change, editing, or additions onto if new questions that are relevant arise.

Diaphonized Body

Diaphonized Body (Event - Fall)

Category: Body
Species: Cloakat

The entire body or parts of the body of the Cloakat look diaphonized in visuals. This is much like trait: ectobone, however, the Cloakat's skin is usually clear with vibrant/neon bones underneath. By default, clear colored skin and Magenta or Cyan bones are the standard, however, feel free to use other colors, tints, and hues so long as it looks diaphonized.

For a better visual of this, please research on an image searching location "diaphonized specimen" to see real life versions of this trait. Please note that this involved dead and preserved animals, so dont do this if you are the faint of heart.

Event traits are easily mimicked by combining regular traits, please refrain from doing this. We understand that it is easy to just do this, but event traits exist sheerly for fun purposes, like having unique traits pop up around certain holidays to have something cool to look forward to.

Credit to Tornpages for this trait idea.

Prehensile Tendrils

Prehensile Tendrils (Legendary)

Category: Body
Species: Cloakat

The Cloakat sports some tendrils that it uses to help aid it in everyday life or for battle.  By default, these are "blank tentacles", but can be combined with other traits like elemental to make them elemental tendrils like vines, fire, rock, etc., pet parts to make literal octopus tentacles, inanimate parts, festival fascinators, or other traits within reason.

Max amount of tentacles present is 6.

Exception:
For fully squid or octopus-like aesthetics, the Cloakat can have 8 (octopus) or 10 (squid) in this case, otherwise 4 is the max.

Etched Bones

Etched Bones (Uncommon)

Category: Body
Species: Cloakat

A Cloakat who has different etched or intricate patterns on any part of their body considered bone, keratin, or enamel. (Bones, teeth, claws, horns, etc.).
In dark locations, the etchings of the Cloakat's body will glow. They seem to be more vibrant in the month of May. The Cloakat does not need the glowing trait to have this trait work unless you want other parts of its body to glow as well.

This is a story-related trait.

Alternating Appendages (Mythic)

Category: Body
Species: Cloakat

Alternating Appendages allows the Cloakat to switch between two traits.
EX: The Cloakat can swap between having 2 different arm traits at will; from standard fat tail to a sudden snatching tail type.
This trait CANNOT be stacked with itself, it can only be used on one part of the body x itself.

All sections of traits are allowed to be swappable with their own section, but these listed traits or sections aren't included in this trait, this includes swapping or being on the Cloakat period to prevent loopholes:
- Anomaly(s)
- Bound
- Dominic's Binding
- Cavemind
- Chimerism
- Animated Fur
- Elemental Textures
- Alt Palette
- Skeletal Parts
- Blacktop
- False Eye Markings
- Heights Section (As a whole)
- Power Limits Section (As a whole)
- Power Section (As a whole)
- We will update this at our digression if any "loopholes" are found.

Slime Parts and Textures

Slime Parts and Textures (Uncommon)

Category: Skin/Fur
Species: Cloakat

Any part of the body can be made of Slime. You need this trait to make things like the claws or teeth to look more transparent, this or the Crystal trait. This also includes Cloaks/Clothes that visually look slime-like. Cannot be used to mimic GHOST trait.

Boba Parts

Boba Parts (Rare)

Category: Skin/Fur
Species: Cloakat

Parts of the body are a glass-like container that can hold things like boba, liquid, liquid galaxy (requires animates skin), sparkles, etc. or be empty in appearance. This also includes Cloaks/Clothes that visually look boba-like or boba-filled. Note: Boba filling cannot be changed out to completely overhaul the appearance of a design. Teeth and Tongue cannot be boba. The body part can be filled OR empty if you'd like. Boba filling still abides by other traits like elements, food, and other trait-oriented textures of the species.

Inanimate Parts and Textures

Inanimate Parts and Textures (Rare)

Category: Skin/Fur
Species: Cloakat

Parts that are inanimate objects or materials like being made of plastic, string, yarn, lego blocks, etc. This can be used to make toy cloakats or stuffed animal/plushie cloakats as well. You can change things to certain objects so long as it generally still has the "Cloakat Shape" of the part being edited.

Elemental Parts and Textures

Elemental Parts and Textures (Epic)

Category: Skin/Fur
Species: Cloakat

Parts that resemble a certain element or emit said element from them. EX: Fire, Ice, Water, Earth, Plant, Etc. This also includes Cloaks/Clothes that visually look elemental.  Stagnant elemental patterns on the clothes and cloak are fine so long as its not animated. This also covers Cloaks that are armor-like in appearance. (gold, silver, metals in general)

Crystal Parts

Crystal Parts (Legendary)

Gem, geode, or crystal-like parts. can be opaque, see-through smooth, rough, etc. You need this trait to make things like the claws or teeth to look more transparent, this or the slime trait. This also includes Cloaks/Clothes that visually look at least 20% or more like crystal in design.

Mech N' Tech

Mech N' Tech (Legendary)

Category: Skin/Fur
Species: Cloakat

Any or all parts of the Cloakat can be tech or mech-like. From "clear craze" to robot/android. Rules: Any parts made to be mech-like have to somehow abide by the rules of each body/power traits section. The face's interface can emote/emoticon, and display messages/images but still has to abide by facial/mouth traits. (This means no eyes! Animated fur is needed for an animated visor.)

Alt Palette

Alt Palette (Mythic)

Category: Skin/Fur
Species: Cloakat

The Cloakat has 2 total palettes for its design, including all accessories and clothes (All traits stay the same but change to 1 total alt palette)
Can allow for both palettes to have 1-3 total different traits between them if wanted, similarly to the chimerism trait.
Not compatible with Animated Fur if patterns between palettes differ or change shape.. Not compatible with Blacktop.

This trait cannot be stacked.

Alt Palette costs extra when requesting a custom.

Standard Fur

Standard Fur (Standard)

Category: Skin/Fur
Species: Cloakat

All bats have a standard fuzzy/short-furred texture to their body. The fur on the body is probably no longer than an inch in any given place generally, but the option to have peachy sphynx-like skin or longer fur is totally an option for anywhere on the body. The fur can be any natural texture of hair; straight, wavy, curly, thick, thin, wiry, coily, fro-like, or "sheepy". This also covers facial hair, "bodily hair", and hairdo's.

REQUIRED UNLESS FUR TYPE IS CHANGED.

Neck Tuft

Neck Tuft (Common)

Category: Skin/Fur
Species: Cloakat

Generally a noticeable poof on the neck of any design or texture. Small "fwips" and curls/tufts are fine, this trait is used for Noticeable larger tufts, rather than a few small puffs close to the neck.

Amphibian Skin

Amphibian Skin (Common)

Category: Skin/Fur
Species: Cloakat

The skin of the Cloakat is slick or smooth in texture with a slight shine, or bumpy like that of a toad if you wish. Can optionally be wet/slimy in texture. This trait cannot be used to mimic other traits. (Most notably, cannot be used to look like food/slime.)

Piñata Fur

Piñata Fur (Uncommon)

Category: Skin/Fur
Species: Cloakat

The fur is layered and boxy like that of a piñata. This affects the tail fur type if wanted/needed.

Plume Fur

Plume Fur (Common)

Category: Skin/Fur
Species: Cloakat

Instead of the usual fur, the Cloakat has feather plumage. This affects the tail fur type if wanted/needed. Cannot be used to mimic a leaf tail. This only COVERS the tail/arm type, it does Not change its shape.
