Traits
Echo Form (Standard)
All Cloakat have the ability to transform between their Cloakat form and a Bat form, much like a movie vampire would go between humanoid and bat. The bat form must resemble the Cloakat form in some way and be obvious. (Example: You can't add or remove so many traits/visuals that the bat looks very little to nothing like their Cloakat form.) The Echo form can have some or ALL the traits present in its Cloakat form, so long as it's still definably the same character. If something doesn't translate well to the Cloakat's Echo Form, they can be removed for simplicity.
Please remember to follow these general guides when creating your Cloakat's Echo Form:
- Drawing this form for your ML entry isn't manditory, but if you plan to create an echo form post-creation, please submit it for approval to the masterlist and we can add it to the characters masterlist entry.
- You can create a Cloakats masterlist entry using its echo form only as a base and make the Cloakat variant another time, however, it cannot remain without a Cloakat form forever.
- Posting to the masterlist with the echo form only also required all of its Cloakat form traits to be present when submitting initially. Please be sure to plan its traits out!
- Echo form is to remain plantigrade.
- The 3 fingers and 1 thumb claw carries over to the echo form. They should have a thumb to grab with, and 3 wing joints with claws at their tips.
- Traits of the Cloakat form can carry to the Echo Form.
- You can remove traits to simplify the echo form but Cannot add traits that don't exist on the Cloakat form.
- The Echo Form is to have a cuff on its neck to represent the hood from behind, unless your Cloakat lacks a hood.
- The Echo Form is required to have pockets (marsupial pouch).
- The tail remains on the Echo Form.
- Wings connect to the Cloakats sides like a natural bat's would, they do not come out of the shoulder/back, etc.
- Patterns and other things cannot be vastly different between Cloakat and echo form. It has to definably be the same creature between both forms.
- When in the Echo Form, the Cloakat's size will be between 3–12 inches (~8-30 cm) tall with a wingspan of 8–32 inches (~20-81 cm) wide.
- This information could be subject to change, editing, or additions onto if new questions that are relevant arise.
Standard Fur (Standard)
All bats have a standard fuzzy/short-furred texture to their body. The fur on the body is probably no longer than an inch in any given place generally, but the option to have peachy sphynx-like skin or longer fur is totally an option for anywhere on the body. The fur can be any natural texture of hair; straight, wavy, curly, thick, thin, wiry, coily, fro-like, or "sheepy". This also covers facial hair, "bodily hair", and hairdo's.
REQUIRED UNLESS FUR TYPE IS CHANGED.
Any Bat Ears (Standard)
For any Cloakat ears, the inside of the ears should always be peachy to bald in texture with a few visible ear ridges. Please also include the little nub or Tragus of the ear when drawing any ears to continue ensuring they are species-consistent. All ear types are generally to be bat-inspired and NOT other animals' ears unless a trait calls for it in this section. Can be any ear type that is reminiscent of a real bat's ears. Please do not use loopholes to replicate other ANIMAL ears, especially CAT ears. These can also be referenced from fandom bat ears like Pokemon and Monster Hunter so long as the whole design does not depict the character in its entirety. Proof request is required for bat ears looking very close to other animals' ears.
REQUIRED BY DEFAULT.
Vampire Fangs (Standard)
The default teeth-type for Cloakat. The teeth are vampire-like in appearance.
REQUIRED UNLESS TEETH SHAPE IS CHANGED.
Tapering tongue (Standard)
Normal tongue with a slightly rounded. Can be any color, gradient, or pattern. Can be any length under ~3 inches out of the mouth because, after that, that is very excessive. The tongue can be rounded or slightly more tapered so long as it's just a generally normal shaped tongue. The Cloakat cannot have more than 1 total tongue at this rarity. For very obvious reasons, the Cloakat's tongue CANNOT be super long, NOR holds objects with its tongue.
REQUIRED UNLESS TONGUE SHAPE IS CHANGED.
Standard Claw Shape (Standard)
Most common claw type, normal bone/nail claws of really any color and generally an average middle ground length. These are usually very fat in size and can be either conal in shape or a rounded flatness on their undersides. There is a total of 4 Claws, with 1 being the thumb. They can be a little thinner or longer, so long as they don't look too much like other traits on this list!
REQUIRED BY DEFAULT UNLESS CLAW SHAPE IS CHANGED.
Standard Arms (Standard)
Solid arms with 4 total claws of any color. Note: The arms of a Cloakat are NOT humanly proportional and will be as long as the length of the Cloakat's body. The hands will generally drag on the floor.
REQUIRED UNLESS AN ARM-SHAPE CHANGING TRAIT IS USED.
Fat-Tailed (Standard)
A solid fat tail of any color with short peachy fur.
When drawing this tail, it HAS to be very fat in the middle and taper out at the end.
The area it attaches to the body is very skinny. A good reference to this is a "yellow leopard gecko morph".
This tail is generally about 1.5 to 2.5x the size of the Cloakats size in height. A very hugable tail overall.
This trait stays UNLESS it has these traits, then delete the default trait:
- Skinny Tail
- Flat Tail
- Bush Tail
- Nub
- Exoskeletal Abdomen
- Object Tail
REQUIRED BY DEFAULT UNLESS TAIL SHAPE IS CHANGED.
Standard Cloak (Standard)
All Cloakats cloaks involve some kind of hood or another. The cloak will be standardly long-sleeved and appear to tuck into the claw's starting point. The outfit can be just about anything with the previous guidelines. Their cloaks can be lifted to reveal their back/chest but cannot be removed. Their Cloak (Or "clothes") generally reflect the Cloakat's hobbies, interests, or talents in some way shape or form, even if subtle or through colors. The Cloakat's attached cloak is generally a much tougher material than standard clothes, often compared to Kevlar in toughness while still looking like normal materials. This is where the defense aspect of their clothes comes into play. Most Cloakat, if not all, also have some sort of hoodie pocket of some kind on their cloak, if it is now externally visible, a Cloakat will always have an internal pocket inside their cloak to hold their pups in (Like a marsupial's pouch) Please note that the Cloak is also governed by the "overarching traits" section to a point, so please be courteous when creating the cloak of the Cloakat as cloaks mostly made of elements, gems, and metals might be somewhat rarity locked. At standard rarity, your Cloakat is allowed to have a simple hoodie-type cloak, on any higher rarity, you're welcome to change its cloak shape to just about anything you please within reason and rarity. This hoodie by default can be heavily altered and decorated as you please so long as it looks like a hoodie in the end!
Clothing or accessories are not allowed to be made to appear or look very sexual in nature or could be confused as a fetish. Please keep it PG.
Remove this trait is these traits are applied:
- Poncho Cloak
- Leotard Cloak
- Undefined Cloak
- Undercloak
REQUIRED UNLESS CLOAK SHAPE IS ALTERED.
Average Height (M) (Standard)
2'6"-2'11"ft | ~76-89cm
REQUIRED DEFAULT HEIGHT RANGE.
Cloakats are naturally short when compared to humans.
Standard Power Limit - 1 Total Power (Standard)
General Power Info:
• Standard rarity Cloakats are limited to 1 power total. It is the flight Power by default. (Add this power in your submission form)
• Common rarity Cloakats are limited to 2 power total.
• Uncommon AND Rare rarity Cloakats are limited to 3 power total.
• Epic AND Legendary rarity Cloakats are limited to 5 power total.
• Mythic rarity Cloakats are limited to 5 power total.
Cloakats aren't REQUIRED to have a power of any sort, however, by default they always have the flight trait unless they have stunted arms or other "deformities" according to their normal traits.
The Cloakats Powers HAVE to make sense according to the Cloakats design in some way. Please leave notes on explanation or if you have a certain power in mind.
How to 'use' Power Limits and selecting powers for your Cloakat:
To obtain more than the amount of powers your Cloakat is limited to, you need two things: a rarity potion for the amount of power limitation you want it to be upped to, and a power food to give your bat the appropriate power(s) you're looking for. If you have already capped the max amount of powers you can use, you can replace the power by using a TRAIT EXTRACTION potion, as well as the power food for the new power you're wanting to acquire. (Or a rarity potion for the new power added, foods are just easier to acquire!)
Background Info on Powers and rules:
• Cloakats live in a world built for battle, although they keep themselves generally away from this, they often have powers for battle or generally useful purposes in their community.
• If power is being chosen by a client for their Cloakat, It HAS to make some sort of sense in relation to the Bat. I.E: A Cloakat themed around the sea/ocean generally shouldn't have FIRE powers.
• Please only choose powers that make sense, you don't HAVE to choose as many powers as possible for your rarity of Cloakat's limit of powers. These are limits, not mandatory. Powers that don't make sense or without explanation might be rejected to prevent "god-modding".
• Rarity of Cloakat indicates the limited number of powers they can have at one given time. This limit is put in place to prevent potential "god-modding"
• Cloakats Cannot Transform,
• Cloakats Cannot Shapeshift,
• Cloakats Cannot Multiply or clone themselves, even if fake/mirages.
• Cloakats Cannot have powers that change their size.
Flight Powers (Standard)
All Cloakat's have the ability to fly, float, and hover. The only thing affecting this power is if they have stunted arms. The smaller the arms, the harder it is for them to fly. Vise versa, if they have larger arms or more arms, their ability to fly is better, but not necessarily quicker. Cloakats also tend to be much slower on their feet due to them lugging around their entire weight by foot, causing them to be slower with their movements in battle.
Cloakat's aren't REQUIRED to have flight, however, by default they generally always have the flight trait unless they have stunted arms or other "deformities" according to their normal traits as it is a naturally built power in their species' arms. You can make your Cloakat flightless if you so wish, but it is recommended you don't. This is a way you can "acquire more powers" but at the exchange of their ability to fly. Other powers cannot be used to compensate for their lack of flight.
I.E: using space the teleport if there's no flight power, using wind power to lift a Cloakat, so on and so forth.
Companion (Standard)
A trait to give any companion, as sometimes submitting their without traits may break the link to their masterlist page.
Restricted to COMPANIONS only.
Oddity Potion Applied (Standard)
A trait specifically for Companions to show it has had a Pet Potion of Oddities applied to it. The amount of oddities per companions is Four (4) total Max.
Restricted to COMPANIONS only.
